Will it be as much of a shock as when Hereford beat them in the early 70's? That game was on ESPN classic the other day.
This is whats being said on the bbc website.
Sky have picked the Luton v Liverpool rematch this year, and we've picked two such ties again in Burnley v Arsenal and Stoke v Newcastle. Burnley have had a poor run at home recently, but Turf Moor will be jumping, and even if Arsenal rotate their squad, they are nearly always involved in good football matches. Stoke v Newcastle could scarcely be better poised editorially: a high-flying Championship side hosting an under-pressure Premiership club with a huge FA Cup tradition.

No, I meant that all of the media will be expecting Newcastle to steam roller over us that's all. I wasn't likening us to Hereford at all.

no, I know you weren't, but yes I take you point - the media see us as minnows and if we do pull off a win they'll make it sound like the upset of the century.

Newcastle are not expected to steamroll us! Everything ive read has indicated that we are more than capable of getting a result. We may be slight underdogs but we are by no means seen as hereford lol.

To be fair a lot of the media fancy Stoke to cause an upset. No one expects Toon to steamroll us

The thing is, while you'd have to make Newcastle favourites to win it, I'm not sure it will be a genuine "shock" if they don't. The media seem to be anticipating it already.
