Padders, Although I can somewhat understand your perspective on things, I do find holes in your agument. One the one hand you are saying that you do not see Stoke dropping that far, or the Vale getting a string of promotions, however on the other hand you are saying that you wish your children to experiance a simular sort of banter? Surely with the gulf between the clubs, that is not going to happen any time soon? I would rather my children have banter with fans of, say Liverpool or Man United than irrelevent people like Vale. And it is interesting that you mention employment. Did you know that the average Tesco store actually employs several hundred people? (winky thing)

I remember the first derby game I went against Vale back in 1989 at the Vic. Full house and a superb atmosphere. Plus the same for the return fixture (shit 0-0 draw if I remember but again, great atmosphere). It's a real pity that for now those derby days have gone.
I have grown up with close friends as Vale fans, I have neighbours who are season ticket holders and I also have a relative who has a senior position at the club. To say that all Vale fans are 'vile' and deserve to be in the gutter is ridiculous, get your head from up your arse.
Whilst I don't want them to have more success than Stoke, I don't want to see a football club go out of business either.
So what if they show our score when we're losing....they are 3 divisions beneath us, do you realise how ridiculous you appear slagging them off??

administration does not mean out of business, it means points deducted and into non league...hopefully.
Do you think they want us to stop up, do you think they were happy when we went up, do you think they were thinking of our bad position when the soap dodging gypsies were a league above us, give it a rest, yes your "family and friends who are vale fans" may have been bothered and playing lip service, have you seen the vile and devils sporn they write about Stoke on one vale fan....
give it a rest, I hope they are blue square this time next year.
night chaps I am off to bed.
City till I die, city till I die, we hate vale, we hate vale, city till I die..........

Thanks to all the decent Stokies for their comments on here. For the record, there are more and more Vale fans who are embarassed by the fact that the scoreboard keeps showing Stoke scores. Yes whoopdee fucking do, Stoke are losing to someone. Big wow. We're losing to Accrington fucking Stanley and Macclesfield bloody Town. We're taking the piss out of a team three divisions above us for what reason exactly? Grr!! I'd rather hear no songs than Anti-Stoke songs.
Being honest, I'd rather see all three promoted teams stay up*. It's bad for football if you just have teams go up to come straight back down next season. If that carries on you may as well ditch promotion and relegation.
(* That is a lie, I would happily see the Baggies go down after 1954 and 1993!)

I find this simply amazing WHY would any FOOTBALL fan want to see another football club go bust? It wouldn't be any good for anybody if they did. The rivalry between the two clubs is well and truly over and has been for the best part of 10 years. It buggers belief to me, it really does Just shows how immature and backward some people can be.

Out of 6,000 Vale fans 5,999 may well not give two hoots about Stoke City Football Club but 1 person just might, and if this was to be the case then there is no way that i would ever want his football team to go bust.

What a load of nonsense. You have people on here harping on about glory hunters etc then slag of people for supporting one of their local teams. No doubt if a vale fan came to watch stoke he would be accused of glory hunting . I for one support anyone who follows their local team through thick and thin and hope vale survive.. as for locals wearing chelsea shirts thats another matter.....

It's always a shame to see any club go down the pan.... Even Vale I suppose. They're sooo far from us now it doesn't matter. I can never understand why we still chant the we hate vale stuff anymore? It's not important nor does it matter?

I wouldn't like to see them go into administration, I don't even hate them, I was brought up to want all 3 local teams do well, unless of course, they were playing us. I have no ill feelings towards Vale or Crewe, I'd much prefer to see al 3 clubs do well, I save all my hatred for United .

Have to say I wouldn't want them to bail out, nor any other team for that matter.
Hate to say it but as a local team in a lower division, I'd rather they were still around than any other team in div 2. :-)

I don't hate Stoke. There's not much point. Jealous yes, because you're in the biggest division of football. You and Hull trying to fight against the greed and deception that exists in a corrupt division, and I wish you the best of luck. It will be a sad day for football if money talks and you get relegated. There are though still a number of chavs who harbour a deluded belief that the two teams are rivals and Vale can again compete at Stoke's level. Not going to happen for a long time. I'd rather see 10 Stoke shirts around Hanley than one "big four" shirt. Although I'd expect to see some more Man City shirts now, which is a sad sign of the times.

Never played a big part in my life. Vale have their own supporters. Not as many as us, but loyal, faithful fans who have stood by the club for many years. Hope they DON'T go into admin. In fact, I wish them all the best. With football dying at the top with the BIG FOUR and all the silly money they get and spend, we need football roots at the bottom to survive. Best wishes to the Vale. as long as they are below us, I don't wish them any harm.

Are you serious, when they had the glory years they were getting 8k, how many have stood by them since then.
I am taxing my brains who they will ground share with when the vale tip is turned in to an Aldi, Kidsgrove athletic or Knypersley Vics, well one thing is for sure we do not want the hopeful non league unwashed gypsies on the brit........
Mind you we could make some cash out of them by letting them play their home games on the Mich training ground.
Non league Vale...got quite a ring to it

I just don't understand this hatred. It seems it's just the chavvy halfwits on both sides. Years ago, I used to go down the Vale and have a great time on the Bycars with my mates, and they'd quite often come down and stand in the Boothen paddock. Just because I support Stoke doesn't mean I have to hate the Vale. They're another local side with some loyal supporters who don't deserves to just vanish. Anybody who thinks the Vale morons would suddenly start supporting Stoke must be deluded, anymore than the Stoke morons would go to the Vale. All that would happen is trouble, and that's nothing to do with football, they're just morons.

Personally I rather us both be in the Premiership and us dick them home and away and take the 6 points.
Rivalry, bragging rights and the points and Stoke on Trent supporting 2 Premiership clubs
Happy Days

I genuinely cannot believe some people who wish harm on a club that quite possibly a number of their mates care passionately for.
I find it quite funny when they lose, but as for anything more serious, that's absurd. All the best to them, there's some good sides in that division....Accrington Stanley, Morecambe, and who'd fancy a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge on a tuesday night?
;D
