Has been given a lot of stick the last 6-8 months, but I must say he has impressed me in most of our matches this season. Today he played really well, but Abdoulaye Faye must play as a central defender where he is awesome. Was also impressed by Cort today, but Higgy is not a left back even though he won numerous headers at the back post. Maybe we are starting to find our back four at last? ;D

Griff was excellent but in general the back four were outstanding. Big mentions for Faye and Higgy who were immense. Praise for Leon for stepping into the breach and matching his team mates endeavors tackle for tackle.

You absolutely can't fault his commitment but I do sometimes worry about his lack of pace these days.
Still if he played well today, I apologise unreservedly for doubting him in the past.

Great to see him playing well, was dreading the thought of him playing in the Prem but hasn't put a foot wrong this season.

His pace stood up against the likes of Babel and Riera so full marks from me...

Griff has played as well as he did when he was 18 for the last few games (when he was 18 I thought he was going to go on and play for England ).

In his first loan spell at Stoke 2 years back Griffin was great. He is getting back to that now.
Some fans have a downer on him for some reason(s)...
I reckon his decision to go to Derby and him being part of a Derby defence that really struggled (A 0 - 6 result for Derby at Anfield and the analysis on MOTD in particular) plays a big part in fans' attitudes towards Griff.

An alarming drop in form last season meant that fans had a right to question his future as a Stoke player, but he's suddenly, and completely unexpectedly, started to look like the player we had on loan two years ago.
Perhaps having the rock that is Abdy Faye playing in the defence with him has had a positive impact on Griff's game? (It certainly seems to have had on Leon Cort)

I ate my words about Griff last week and I'm eating them again now, great performance today as part of a bloody magnificent defence.

Well done Andy

His pace has indeed gone, but he seems to compensate by reading the game much better now.

Maybe the thrashings he got while at Derby effected his confidence a bit. A couple of good games under his belt and his decision making is much better. I always find if your scared of making a bad decision you either make the wrong 1 or don't make 1 at all.I ve always had faith andy will come good. It will be interesting to see wether he gets moved to left back if sonko is out next week with davies poss be going to right back and danny in the center with faye. I personally would prefer that set up because danny seemed out of position today but I like the way he talks to the deffence and keeps them organised at the back.something we have been missing all last season and the start of this which is why we have been conceeding so easly particualy at set pieces.

Griffin played very well.
I've been critical of him more than most - at times he has been abysmal since returning - but maybe he he is now starting to rediscover a bit of form....
*Touch wood.

As one of Griffin's biggest critics this past year, i would also like to say that he was outstanding once again yesterday, as he has been for the past few games. Still think his distribution is woeful, but wasnt found wanting defensively at all yesterday against oone of the biggest sides in the world. That last minute header off the head of Torres gets better every time you see it. A captain's performance yesterday....

But Liverpool defended there entire half the pitch well!!!!!!!!!!!
