Interesting info regarding the 2010 World Cup folks... A lady who has just started in my company informed me her father is 2nd in command in developing the Transmission network of Electricity for Eskom in South Africa..... They are working double over time in getting the grids and also power supply to the national transport company traansnet in place.... The ageing powerstations simply cant meet demand... She mentioned that her dad said (in a thick SA accent ) "we dont ahve a hope in hell of pulling this off and plan B will swing in to action shortly....." The good news for us is its England that will be chosen..... Some people already knew the troubles they have over there but actually spekaing to someone who has family on the inside seems to give the situation a bit more validity.... Dont book any trips to South Africa just yet......

I'm hoping it's either back in Germany surely the most sensible/easy option or perhaps Spain? Anywhere but South Africa will basically do me fine.

Whilst I do think the world cup should be going to africa, I don't think that South Africa is the right place, the crime rates are shocking , they make London look like a snoozy village in the outer hebrides

If it was in England but we didn't qualify, what would happen then, with us being the host nation? Or would FIFA just 'pretend' that it was in South Africa?
