Preston striker Patrick Agyemang is set to join Championship rivals QPR. Preston have received an offer from Rangers and boss Alan Irvine expects Agyemang, 27, to complete a move.
"We can't match what QPR are prepared to offer Patrick and it's a chance for him to move back down to London," Irvine told his club website.
Striker Andy Carroll has also returned to Newcastle after his loan spell ended but Irvine wants to try and extend Paul Gallagher's loan deal from Blackburn.

QPR seem to be being linked with everything that moves at present. Suspect it's more to do with idle media types that frequent the watering holes around Shepherds Bush, than any reflection of fact.
"QPR are interested in Sunderland's Daryl Murphy, Blackburn's Robbie Savage, Celtic's Bobo Balde and Reading's Leroy Lita. "(Telegraph)

"We can't match what QPR are prepared to offer" - get used to seeing that phrase frequently from now on folks - as well as "QPR are intereted in ....." . The "new Chelsea"? we'll have to see.

Looks like they've already hoovered up Agyemang and Ephraim from West Ham for a combined £1.3m - and the window has barely opened.

shame, agyemang would fit into our side really well.
Gallagher could be persuaded perhaps?

He's scored 49 goals in 288 games.
Sidibe has scored 32 goals in 225 games.
It wouldn't be much of an improvement for a team pushing for the premiership.

I don't think it would surprise many if QPR were to end up there or thereabouts come April.
Palace have had an amazing resurgence under Colin without any significant additions to their squad.
This league is a proper football manager's dream, it's utterly there for the taking...

From another perspective - it's bl**dy worrying to look at Preston's situation. They've always been there or thereabouts in the play offs in recent years, but this season everything's gone t*ts up after selling their star striker - and now they're selling off the rest of their better players.
A salutory lesson to us all ?

But, do we really want players who don't want to play for us, unless there's no other option for them?

QPR will spend big and I feel will roar up the table and do a Palace. I cant understand what the attraction of QPR is for one of the richest men in the world. Makes sense for Ageymang to go there as its near his london roots and he is a good championship player. Must be a good time to be a QPR fan now.
No signings are 'earth moving' but they are all good championship players. Wouldnt surprise me if they spent £10 million or more in this window.

That bloke has been sold for more money over the years than the entire M&S Christmas pudding stock! I wouldn't waste 10p on the bloke, never mind a £1m. What QPR does show, is what a club with transfers lined up acts like ... and we all know an example of one acting differently ... ... Do I hear the sound of excuses being sharpened? Complete the following, for the chance to win a signed Tony-Pulis-Bedpan: "We can't ..." ah

QPR must have a great chance of going up this year and i wouldn't bet against it either because they were by far the best side that i had seen down the Brit this season when they did eventually decide to give it a go.
They have a pace through the backbone of their team and so much so that even the best teams in the world let alone the Premier League would have found difficult not to have being pushed back.
Love to know what their odds are of going up this year because this is well within their capabilities.

I personally think that they have left it too late for this season, however they will be up there next season and fair play to them.

When youre only 9 points off a play-off position with 20+ matches to go then in my opinion it's impossible to suggest that they have left it too late.

I was expectng QPR to raid the premierships reserves for the best around. They have the cash and the wages but the players they've signed (Coco excluded) is hardly frightful
