Being a lifelong fan of Stoke (I'm 32), I've seen some dark times with Stoke, get relegated, lose in the first round of the cup, sell our best players, miss out on promotion and felt thoroughly depressed. I've also seen us promoted, beat Man U, win the Autoglass, get promoted again and the highest high....get to the Prem.
I love these emotions, the lows and the highs! If I'd never had bad times with Stoke I wouldn't appreciate the good times. My point is, do you think "supporters" of Man Ure, Arse nal, Chelski etc. will feel the same? I doubt it. They're so used to success they get complacent about a top 4 finish and regular silverware. They happily slag off teams like Stoke who can't achieve their success and are sickly smug with themselves. They never truly feel what it's like to be a football fan.
I'm happy to leave that to them and fight every season to be the best we can. We go through a rollercoaster of feelings every year and I relish it.
We are Stoke and we are here!

I kind of agree, but isn't it just the framework that's different? If Liverpool win the league, their supporters will feel it's manna from heaven after years of Man U domination. I'm sure Man U fans felt pretty good when they won the European cup in the last minutes of injury time v Bayern.
I am talking about lifelong fans here, who all these clubs possess, believe it or not.
As for people who change clubs each season according to who is doing well, then they are beneath contempt, and unlikely to possess any emotion other than a shallow desire to be associated with success, however temporary.

Totally agree I bet not one Manure fan felt as good as we did on the final wistle of the Leicster game when they won the Champs League this season, gloryhunters will never feel the connection that we fans feel about Stoke. Their loss to be honest I would hate to be a fan like that.

I wouldnt swap the last 12 months for a lifetime of glory hunting
The high felt after promotion and then the Villa gamehas to be better than any European Champions League for any glory hunter.
Great times
Im proud to say that I went to every game - home and away in our last season in the top flight so this 'return' is truly special for me.
