I cannot understand all this moaning just because we weren't able to get Ledley or Pennant signed up. If they didn't want or weren't allowed to come you can't fault TP and his crew for this! I think they did a good job in bringing in two talented players that surely will make our team stronger. If Tonge can find back to his best shape we've got a very good player at our hands. Anyway it is certainly worth the gamble. Soares is also one of the brighter talents in England and will give us both more options + back up for Lawrence. Stoke spend close to £6M in one day and supporters moan! Get real people! This shows how far we've come in a short time!

I think you need to get real and start differentiating between moaning and disappointment because of all the excitement.

I think we all built ourselves up for a big day of name signings, and no disrespect to the players that signed, but it was a bit of an anti climax, i think most people would agree with that surely ? It would have been exciting to sign a few foreign imports, but alas Pulis seems determined to do all his shopping within the borders of England .

My point is that the club seemed to try very hard to tempt for instance Ledley, but are just getting stick back for it. I'm not so sure by the way that Ledley would have been a so much better signing than the two midfielders we have brought in, especially not for the money asked! Maybe we should give the club credit instead for spending £6M on new players, and also for doing this when other possibillities were turned down.

I've not heard anyone give the club stick for going for Ledley, not landing him maybe, but i think everyone was pretty excited that we were in for him, the disappointment came when we didn't land him.
We should have gone for him much earlier, he then would have had time to kick a stink up and demand to speak to us, we went in for him way to late, and Cardiff were able to wait the clock out, by all accounts it sounds like he did want to speak to us, given a couple more days of kicking up a stink Cardiff probably would have wilted .

Rob, there are not actually that many moaners. The usual suspects are having a go but the majority are, as RAF says, just disappointed that TP didn't get his top target, Joe Ledley. I have to disagree with you about Ledley - £6 million is top money but he is an excellent player and I hope we get him in the next window - just the sort of player to add to the squad in the run in. Although he has only played in the Championship he has always looked good in Internationals and he has a sackful of caps for a youngster. The fact that he plays for a poor international side is neither here nor there - the opposition is as good as any.

You may be right lakeland, but I've been a supporter of this club for more than 30 years, and never have I seen shown so obvious signs of ambition. I'm just thrilled with what I now experience for the first time ever as a supporter. Give the club credit not stick when this obviously is what is deserved!
