After hearing the post match summary of Gleghorn and Acres,i must admit to feeling pretty low, with our performance. I have just listened to Gareth Southgates comments on the BBC sports website and he was very complimentry about Stoke and stated that if he had been TP he would have been very dissapointed with the result. I think Acres's comments with regard to the sending off were also out of order. The way he ranted about Faye, you would have thought he had just murdered somebody with a rusty knife. If your not happy with what you see Acres fuck off back to Plymouth.

It was a different game when we went down to 10.
We dug in, but could've got mauled 4 or 5 in the second half. They really seemed to know how to use the extra man, and we didn't see much of the ball at all. That's a concern, but I suppose that'll normally be the case agaist Prem teams. Man City did much the same to West Ham last week when they went down to 10.
But what I'll take away most is how bloody good we looked for the first 35 minutes. We looked confident and really had a significant edge. It was a pleasure to watch.
Such a shame the game did a 180 degree turn once the red card and goal came along, or who knows what we could've achieved.

We are going to find it hard enough this year without getting players sent off - and, as Fullermagic has just said, that decision by Faye turned the game against us.
Acres has every right to his opinion, and you and I have every right to ours, and just because he works for BBC Radio Stoke doesn't mean he can only say good things about Stoke City FC.
Obviously as I disagree with you Pottersrule regarding Acres I guess I better head off and support Vale as you can't handle people being around who don't see things your way.
Why don't you just fuck off to another radio station - or better still go the match yourself?

I think everyone agreed the sending off was the turning point in the game, with the BBC reporter commenting "Stoke had been the better team up until then"and Southgate agreeing with him.Acres didn't make this clear to the listener today though.I thought his commentry was pathetic today.

I think Acres was more frustrated with Amdy as it was needless, he was right on top of the lad so lunging in two footed he knows he's going to get sent off, malice or not.

I understand that Dave, but his comments don't seem to reflect most other peoples opinion of todays game. Soutgate said we deserved something from the game, and the Radio Stoke team said it would have been a travesty if we had got anything.I just wondered how these opinions could differ so.

Acres initial reaction about the sending off was that it was a harsh decision, until NG corrected him, after that he agreed with most of what NG said, him being the football pundit an' all that.

If Acres said travesty then he should be removed from commentaries.
He is supposed to be reporting for Local Radio on our Local team, and even if his opinion is a travesty if we had got anything he should not say it.
Yes report the facts, - Borough had more of the play and more chances, etc but how can it be a travesty if the local Football team gets a draw against the odds with 10 men?
If Borough had not won it would not have been a travesty. It would have been Boroughs fault for not finishing us off. Fact is if you don't put the ball between the sticks you don't score and that is not a travesty, it means you are crap in front of goal.
If I was Tony Scholes I would remove Radio Stoke's commentary from the World Web.
