Given that Rory seems perfectly willing to throw the ball short to allow Dickinson or Griffin to boot the ball to somewhere where our players aren't, how about a different variant delivery?
Do we have anybody with a hard shot from outside the box? If Whelan was on the pitch, perhaps he could stand on the edge of the centre circle and then sprint on to the end of a Delap long throw just outside the box, take a touch and hammer it. That might catch the odd team out.

If any changes are to be made to the long throw then surely this is the way forward.
If Rory busted that out I would probably get a stonk on in the Seddon.

I asked the same question to the person sat next to me at Villa, funny I should ask it as soon Sidibe scores the third from a Delap throw. Needless to say the reply "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
By the way Mystical, there's a thread on the General Discussion board you may be intrested in.

I thought that, then i thought it would be a foul throw. It wasn't Challinor was it. Law 15 - The Throw-In
At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower:
faces the field of play has part of each foot either on the touch line or on the ground outside the touch line uses both hands delivers the ball from behind and over his headwww.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesAndRegulations/FIFALawsOfTheGame/Postings/2002/05/12120.htmeven though it looks weird, it looks as if it complies with the throw in rules I'd love it if rory did it though
