I know West Brom did this a while back...so why not Stoke?....How much would it cost the club?...probably a few hours of Rics wages. C'mon Coatesy, heres a real opportunity to be a true St Peter. Also why dont we have a link on here for car share...4 in a car is cheaper than 2. Games like Boro and Portsmouth will be the lowest away attendance so anything that improves the numbers is welcome. I have emailed the club making the suggestion

West Brom have also assembled a comedy defence and can't score goals for toffee. Come on Coatesy, get it sorted.

WBA did it once. Away to Charlton, it was an end of season relegation 6 pointer and they hadn't sold many tickets so free travel was laid on. It wasn't an early season game on the back of the club's biggest win for years.

I think Earnshaw scored a hat trick in that game for Brazil.

Do you think they are going to announce 48 hours before the match that there is free travel? ???
I think the only way we would get free travel would be if we 'did a Derby' and the club did it as an apology to supporters.
In all honesty, why should the club do free travel? It is a nice gesture but I'd prefer we spent money on players than petrol.

I think Earnshaw scored a hat trick in that game for Brazil. He did. They won 4-1 I think.

He definitely scored if memory serves Joe, he did that stupid machine gun celebration whilst wearing a stupid Buck-toothed grin that brought back memories of his premature play-off celebrations when he did the Ayatollah the Knob. ;D

People want free travel and the ground being improved and having the corners filled in, and then wonder why we don't splash out millions of pounds on average/shit Prem players

I was rather hoping he'd pay my travel to Boro. After all, as I told him in my email, it is less than 100 miles from where I live and I am giving lifts to two other Cumbrian based Stokies. So it really is a bargin and he would be mad to turn my offer down. As I told him in the last paragraph of the email, if he refuses this opportunity it will send all the wrong signals to the fans and people will think he is a tightwad who has no real interest in doing anything for our club and for our city. Strangely, he hasn't replied yet.

I have to say I agree
Perhaps free match tickets as well and a stop at the Beefeater on the way with a 5 course lunch for all thrown in.
Surely Coates could shell out for a night at the Travelodge for those who have longer distances in the morning to travel home as well.
As for free programmes- goes without saying and maybe a pie and and a lager for all chucked in for good measure.
Tight arse Coates.

I think its quite a good idea for free bus travel, can't cost that much. I for one would go if it was free to get there on an official bus. No need to be sarcastic replies of "why dont you buy my lunch etc" yawn yawn

Iceland, I'm sure 4,000 Stokies would go if it was free on the official buses. If you think hiring 80 coaches would not cost the club much and that the money would not be better spent on team strengthening the you will be in the minority, I should think.

Seems every other week on here folk are looking for something free- seems they think our club is a bottomless pit of money.
So many moaned at the lack of Bolton tickets- there are plenty to go round here.
Sure it's not cheap but FFS how many times did we have this last season? 5 quid tickets and season ticket holders moaned - etc etc
I you want to go .go. Just don't expect everything for nothing.
Iceland- why not contact your local petrol station and ask for free petrol for being such a loyal customer-yawn yawn
The club has already rewarded fans with cheap season tickets . Maybe they should have been free

Just because you're fortunate enough to be able to afford the away games doesn't stop other fans making suggestions like this

As for free programmes- goes without saying and maybe a pie and and a lager for all chucked in for good measure. I wonder if the free programmes at Bolton were partly funded by Coatesey? He kindly donated about 500 scarves at the Colchester match last season to supporters.

Iceland- no-one said the Prem was going to be cheap but I can't for the life of me see why the club should foot the bill for supporters to go to Boro
They've spent a rumoured nearly 2 million sprucing up the stadium etc and now you're asking to be taken to away games at their expense as well
Why on earth should they?
What about those travelling from other parts of the country??? Almost as if some want to be paid to go to games

Iceland- no-one said the Prem was going to be cheap but I can't for the life of me see why the club should foot the bill for supporters to go to Boro It was just an idea from the OP, why are you so dead against it. no, I'm not asking that, the OP was suggesting it. Plus everyone's man of the moment Coates is the only man to blame for letting the stadium get into a state as it was. so lets put it this way, why shouldn't he spend money on the upkeep of it?
