Yes a left midfielder. Another striker and center half - of course. A full back would be sound.
But one signing we do need from the evidence so far, is to sign a back-up for Rory's long throws. Just image that Rory breaks his leg again (heaven forbid). That's a massive part of our game gone. What about signing a squad player with a long throw? Gunarsson from Coventry for example?

Don't panic we've scored four goals TWICE as many as ManUre and only one has come from the long throw! Don't beleive the hype of fookwits like Adrian Durham.
Our long throws are one part of our large arsenal.

i feel we base our game to much on his long throws like on Saturday every throw in within the final third bar 1/2 was a long throw am not saying dont do it as i think its a brillant weapon for us but id like to see us use a little bit more variety as we could catch them out with a quick short 1 every now and again especially if we bring in a winger who can cross it

You are right JG it is a potent weapon and I predict by November everyfucker in the Prem. will have a long throw merchant, what we need now are guys who can retain possession in midfield

i feel we base our game to much on his long throws like on Saturday every throw in within the final third bar 1/2 was a long throw Unlike Bolton a week earlier, Villa didn't have a clue how to deal with Rory's throws, and we almost scored off them three or four times prior to Mama's winner. Our attack wasn't based upon long throws, but they were an important part of the plan, and the approach was fully justified. If in another game, we continue to hurl them in against a side that's dealing with them comfortably, then I agree that a Plan B is needed. Until then, bombs away!

And YOU can KNOB OFF Dull Boy! We'll see where you stand it the end of the season - the mighty Dull City and Tango Brown. You are the new Cardiff City - which is good because when Stoke finish way above you, we can all have a laugh at your arrogance Dull City?? FFS

Where is the logic in Stoke being criticised for our long throws. Do the people doing the criticising reckon that when a team has a corner they dont attempt to get the ball in the box, but instead pass it all the way back to midfield to start the attack all over again. Arse my like springs to mind.

It might not be your cup of tea, oh mighty one, but it's been effective. How do you base your opinion on 1/2 games that you saw when you played us, and 2 minutes on the Championship or MOTD ??? Did you not see our second goal and the build up to the penalty? Yes, you did, but you over look it and pigeon hole us like the rest while you look upon your team with rose tinted glasses and Phil Brown with UV Ray Sunglasses.

If we did bring in a left midfielder, would he start? Or would we use him as an impact player? I know this sounds daft, but, surely a left winger would see us dropping Delap? And we'd lose the long throw in. And will a left winger be able to create the chances Delap does from his throws? I'm not so sure! P.S Well said jay

I'm not saying you don't have decent players, I thought Fuller's goal was a cracker, but you are undoubtedly the most direct team in this division. You will always be criticized while you play that way, but it really doesn't matter. I really wouldn't get wound up about it, it works for you so who cares, all teams have to play to their strengths. Nobody will fancy going to you place, and the home form for both of us is crucial as I don't see us picking up many points on the road. For what its worth id love to see us both stay up and stick 2 fingers up to everyone, but I fear its going to be a really tough season for both of us

Their second goal was more direct then anything we did on saturday! And liverpool's winner was from a hopeful punt down the pitch.....we're no more direct than 6 or 7 teams in the league its just that the media and people who've watched some highlights of Rory's thows like to jump on the bandwagon! Wait until you've watched a whole game then comment on our style of play!

Your goal at your place was a header by Cort from a long Delap throw

We've got half a new team in since we played you so I don't think it's fair to base an opinion on those games. You were terrible against us at our place (and we were equally as bad!) and I haven't watched enough of your games this year to know whether you play direct football, beautiful football or somewhere in-between. Without watching more than just match of the day highlights I wouldn't start making sweeping comments!

sutton i think you are right about our direct style, it got to villa and it put them off there game. But we did play some good football at times which did go unonticed by the press.I think we will both have to bring something different to the table if we are to surive, both of us to stop up would be great for football.
