not giving Kevin Phillips a two year contract to continue his career in the Prem
Made his customary fast start to the season, and almost guarantees goals?

It depends.
I prefer Kitson therefore Phillips wouldnt get in the side and I suspect he wouldnt be happy with that.
Useful back up though

I know he wanted a two year contract, but in the end he decided to stay in the Championship, it was his choice and probably one based on the fact he knew that's where he would get goals.
I like him, but I think he would have struggled for goals in our team, and Fuller has shown he's up for it and with Kitson we're okay. Would he have been happy on the bench? Doubt it.

can't see how he would fit our system to be honest , he would only have been a sub as a 2nd string Fuller

Hard to say but I'm fairly certain there are some Tesco carrier bag wearing samba fans who are missing him at present! ;D

wouldn't suit the way we play, is only effective if the ball is played to his feet, he won't compete in the air, he isn't quick, he isn't strong, and won't beat a man, so not our type of player

Change that to COULD- 4 goals in his last season in the Prem tells it how it is. I know he had an injury but he's in the Championship for a reason

Made his customary fast start to the season, and almost guarantees goals? Whether we missed out or not is open to debate, what is clear is that we need another pacy striker. If Fuller gets injured we're buggered!!!

Hard to say but I'm fairly certain there are some Tesco carrier bag wearing samba fans who are missing him at present! ;D more so asda was in asda in west brom (wearing my stoke top, to some rate dirty looks) getting bread and milk on way south yesterday afternoon and had a 20 minute convo with a baggie he was gutted that phillips had gone and even more so seeing him score for the brum. fairdos though he did approach me and say well done for saturday he too aggrees that they wont stay up playing samba football and is desperate for a striker. phillips i believe would have been happy with a 2yr deal here playing back up to ricardo

Phillips would have been an excellent player to bring on in the later stages of the game.

I don't think you did miss out personally.
Firstly, he wanted a guarentee he'd get games.
Secondly, he's 35, and has a dodgy knee and is one bad tackle away from retirement.
Thirdly, there's no guarentee he'd get goals at this level.
Fourthly, he doesn't really fit into your system. He can't win headers at all, and doesn't have the pace to chase flick ons.
