Start of September I would have thought, away tickets are usually on sale 2 to 3 weeks before the game.

Cheers Mate i imagine these tickets will sell-out in 1 day, with a less than 2000 allocation.

I presume (and obviously hope from a selfish point of view) that "the list" will still be used for this fixture?? Given it has been for the Middlesborough game where there's more than enough tickets it would make sense if it was for the Anfield trip.

My latest understanding is that questions have been asked to clarify the situation regards the allocation and the terms of any increased allocation...
It seems Liverpool say they do offer more than 1956 (or whatever) , but if the additional tickets are taken up then all the money has to be paid upfront before any tickets are released.....hence why some clubs settle for the lower figure , Mboro for instance didn't sell out their allocation...they opted for the lower figure
Discussions and info gathering I believe is ongoing
BTW from Lpool's site ...their remaining tickets go on general sale on 2nd September via phone line and postal applications...with possible online availability
Obviously being a selfish bugger too , I also hope the 'list' is used for the initial selling of tickets

scouse, if that is true, there is no reason not to take up the full 3000 , we are a lot closer than Middlesbrough is to your neck of the woods, and our last 2 visits in the league cup have seen us take followings way in excess of 3000

...given the size of your's you'll have to use both hands....
As regards the allocation, totally agree no reason we wouldn't sell out, even then there'l still be a bun fight for tickets...theory is fine , time will tell how easy in practise Liverpool make it for us to get their hands on extra tickets..

If they do buy the extra tickets, based on the size of the game and the results we should have no issue at all selling the extra tickets. Sure common sense will prevail when the two clubs get togethor as everyone who can should get the opportunity to go.
Scouse, I keep mine in a Securicor van for safe keeping ;D

Scouse is basically right. The PL rules require the away club to be allocated 10% of ground capacity or 3000, whichever is lower, so in this case it's 3k, but only 50% have to be on sale or return. So an away club can take 1500 at Anfield without any financial risk. Above that the cost of any unsold tickets has to be borne by the away club. In this case, I assume that Stoke will claim the full 3K.
