www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_2411095,00.html Strange - he apparently signed a 3-yr deal last year, meaning he was already contracted 'til 2010

Must be because of all those goals he scored last season ? ???

Bit odd - I can't see him playing much of a role at all this season if, as expected, we sign another big striker - like The Zigmeister General.

i doubt he was on that much money - compared to others in the squad. cant begrudge him having a wage hike. well done Mama

I am glad, if we go back down, he proved he scares champ defences, he can do it again!

Wouldn't the deal he signed last year already have contained clauses giving him a rise if we went up?

I forgot to mention this earlier but a Bolton fan said how impressed he was by Sidibe last Saturday.
Said he had physical presence and was a handful.
He's my hero, by the way.

Yes, well done Mama. He has a part to play this season, even if some of it is from the bench.

It's a no nonsense hands off warning to Cheltenham before our game next week.

I remember his agent saying he wanted a new deal for him as soon as we went up!

He's negotiating a new contract after he sacked his last agent as the one he signed last year paid him 1K p/w and the rest of his wage was 15K a goal. ;D

It's a no nonsense hands off warning to Cheltenham before our game next week. ;D Let's hope they don't get the message! Only joking. I love him really...in a way.

It's a calculated move to scare off Real Madrid. If they want him they are now going to have to pay top dollar. Good thinking Scholesy !! On a lighter note.... great news and thoroughly deserved Mama.

Ok here goes. Although Mama is a decent footballer and works his nuts off, he is a striker who does not score goals ! Scoring goals is what it is about in his position and perhaps only Peter Beardsley in the modern era is a striker who got away with it without banging in the goals - Mama is no Beardsley ! Stoke city is bigger that any of the players who got us promoted and there should be no sentiment at all. Many of the squad who got us here will be fondly remembered but are clearly not good enough and it makes me cringe reading some posts saying Cressie this , pugh that etc most of the sqaud from last season need replacing whatever they achieved! We move on and as a club and need to do so as quickly as possible. It hard to say and even harder to realize but most of the hero's from last season are dead wood and we have entered a different ball game where sentiment has no place at all.
