If you like me are lucky to have a dish and reciever to get Scandinavian channels. I have an advantage because I've lived in Sweden for some years, close to the Norwegian border, and have friends in both countries to help me out to get some of the channels available there.

Another interesting fact. John Carew is not playing for Norway, out injured, hopefully he won't play for Villa on saturday either. He can be a handful for our defence, strong as an ox like he is.

He has got some back problems from a knock on Saturday, and I think it was 50/50 if he could play or not today. So let's see what happens in our next match. Him or Harewood toghether with Agbonlahor I expect, will be some running for our defence no matter who plays.

If hes got a bad back then Im sure Abdoulaye could give him a few nugdes in the back area just to help along to the bench

Game was on Setanta 2. Pretty poor overall. Dreadful conditions that could have seen some nasty injuries. England game on Setanta 1.

The heavy rain that started in the middle of the 1st half ruined the game completely. Whelan did ok over all.

Saw most of the game and thought Whelan played well and also had some good tackles. As said above the conditions were dreadful. Whelan had one wonderful pass to Keane who could easily score, but the linesman flag went up which was a wrong decision.
I think Carew will play against us on Saturday.

Glenn has adapted well to international football- had a poor game v Bolton but it happens. Kevin Nolan has bolloxed up his chances of going to the World Cup, he won't play for England I feel and Kitson should take note.
Gunnar you may be right- idiotic to have an international game 4 days into the season.

thought whelan looked the best midfielder on the pitch for the first 30mins vs bolton. won alot, was always available and played very tidy. he went missing after steinssons freak goal as did the other 10 stoke players, when half time couldnt come quick enough. whelan was a bit more sloppy at the start of the 2nd half, but no way should he have been brought off.

I think that whelan has premiership potential once he can adjust to it.
I only think he was brought off because we rely so heavily on Delaps throws but he was no better than ok as most of the midfield battles were won by the two bolton players
