former stokie brynjar gunnarsson has just been given a straight red card for reading, for a bad tackle.
is it ref's being too quick to send people off, or is it the players who are persistantly lunging in with crazy chalenges?
because there really has been a lot of red cards of late...
thoughts?

Definite red IMHO. Two footed lunge.

It was 2 footed but he never conected or went for the player. As Andy Grey just said "if they are going to send off for 2 footed if they connect or not then fair enough but thay have to be consistant". I personaly think if they dont get rid of the 2 footed flyer then someone is going to be looking for a new job. My main fear is though that they will go to far and ruin the competative game all together.

yeah i agree this challenge probably was tbh, just overall we are seeing alot of red cards, just wondered what the thoughts of people are, over-strict ref's or crazy lunges persistanty by players.
yer agree there stafford-stokie, it really is getting to the stage where the physical side of football is non-existent, i really wish ref's would be less hasty when dishing out red card's, alot of the time ref's persistently pulling players up for nothing challenges, and wanting the ball in the precise correct position, just kills the game off, and makes it dire to watch.

It is strange that players bare going in 2 footed a lot these days. Zokora, Crouch and now Gunnarsson in the last couple of weeks.
