Until we get in 2 decent full backs? I feel it is best to play a system to suit the players as opposed to playing players that may not be up to the task. It is obvious that our weakness lies in the full back positions and the left side in general. However, we are strong in the centre/spine of the team. How about a team looking something like this.... - 3-1-4-2
Sorenson
Davies Cort Shawcross
Abdoulaye Faye
Lawrence Whelan Olifinjana Delap
Kitson Fuller
I know the left still looks a little weak but that is a strong team and doesnt expose our weakness at FB. It allows Faye to play the 'destroyer' role and effectively act as cover for the defence and sweeper to the midfield.
Thoughts....
SGS
*Edit
The screen doesnt allw me to show the shape of the team. It effectively is Shawcross/Davies(if signed) and Cort as centre backs
Faye is the Defensive midfielder destroyer
The midfield and forward line is self explanatory

I dont think we'd score many SGS ;D
Ooh nice edit... Personally I think that would blunt Liam a little as he would have to track their left midfielder back. Maybe play Liam in the middle with Delap on the right and Dicko as a left WB?

Interesting proposition but TP will never ever change the formation or the style of play, I think we are well aware of it too, he isn't one for change is our Tone.
I'd rather a pacy left winger in place of Delap, but then you would need to put Delap elsewhere as he must start

perfectly valid point but TP 99% of the time plays two bacnks of four. I agree and I prefer two banks of 4 as TP knows it well. However, until we can get in 2 decent full backs, I would prefer us to pick a team that puts players in comfy positions, Delap possibly being the exception with that team. SGS

Regardless, I hope he plays a team something like this on saturday, as long as Davies signs:
Sorenson
Davies Shawcross/Cort Faye Dicko
Lawrence Whelan Olifinjana Delap
Fuller Kitson
My guess though is that he will Cressy on the left and drop Whelan for Delap in the centre.
