He is quite quick and granted he's not a winger but he'd do better than Cressy out there. That cross he put in yesterday was a beauty and it's one more cross than Cressy has ever stuck in from the left. Just a thought like!

I'm thinking that Cresswell is fucking shit and Dicko would do a shift and can cross it better. I'm tired too but I seriusly think he'd be better than Cresswell out there.

No I don't drink. Seriously though as a part time measure until we get a proper left winger I think he'd do far better than Cresswell out there.

That pass yesterday brings Dicko's career history of good passes to a grand total of one.. ;D

I agree that's why I'd play Demar on the left but that would get even more ridiculed than Dicko! But I'm thinking like Tone! And I think 4-3-3 or something of that ilk would just leave us more exposed than playing one person out of position.

We don't react with fluidity, mainly due to the fact that our players have no freedom to adapt to an evolving attack, this division requires intelligence and communication.

Nah I think we're wank at defending! I can see what You are saying and I think people like Lawrence, Fuller, Kitson can do that but we need to balance the team out with a good left winger. I'm not saying Dicko is the man but I think he'd do ok out there. When we pass it quick on the counter attack we look threatening this is why I think Phillips would do well in the team and his pace could be utilised.

Why won't Tone play Philips?
Surely it's worth watching him against Villa, even if he fails.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind Dickinson playing left wing in the short term for a couple of games and would much rather prefer him playing there than Cresswell to be fair. But netherless, we need a quality, nippy little winger like Adam Johnson, Shaun Maloney, Wayne Routeledge? Someone of that calibre that can wing a quality ball into the box and beat players, which is somethin Cressy can't do. We deffo need to strengthen quickly in defence (both fullbacks), left winger and possibly another quick striker and not wait until the transfer deadline!! I'd be a happy chappy if we could get them before the deadline, loan or permanent.

He's got to be worth a shot just to give the team something different. He might well play shit but he's an option worth trying imo.

Tone still wants workers in wide positions. Buy or loan 2 good full backs, play a holding centre mid and let the front 4/5 create. ???

The thing from I've seen of Phillips he does work his bollocks off. For the reserves he's up and down the flank like a man possessed and has a good engine in him.

Phillips but I don't think he's the answer at all. I'd like to see what the lad could do for us though. I like his pace and think pace is what we lack. We wouldn't miss Cresswell for one game and he'd be a gamble worth taking.
But like badger says someone like Johnson would be an excellent addition to the sqaud.

He may not be the answer, but at least he sounds like a round peg in a round hole.

He may not be the answer, but at least he sounds like a round peg in a round hole. Maybe I think he's better than what he is. But I see a pacy player that would scare defenders. I couldn't give a fuck that he's only 5ft 7 and weighs no more than a bag of sugar-he has the speed to scare the shit out of full backs!

When I read the topic on the thread I thought 'no chance', but actually, until we get some one to come in for cressy, not a bad idea.
I would also like to see Delap tried at right back, put griff at left and secure faye at cb
