Even without any new signings I think the team can get something at Bolton certainly a hard fought draw....but then Villa at home looms. Everyone worries we might get hammered by the so called big 4...but Villa away from home last season scored 37 at an average of 2 per game...not bettered by the big 4. With the current defence any thoughts on what formation we might play....flood midfield with 4..5...1

thats a worrying stat but i think at the moment the old 451 looks a good bet but who knows what players we will have by then.
4.5.1 with a decent salif doesnt sound to bad

It's not at all worrying it's what we've been desperate for, for the past 23 years. Even with no further signings the team will scrap like pit bulls. Fucking enjoy it.

Fuck if Villa are worrying you, what are you gonna be like when Arsenal, Chelsea and the Man United visit?
This is what we're here for goddamnit! To test ourselves against the best, to improve and to have a fucking good time!
So stop worrying and enjoy the ride - they'll be a lot more good football at the Brit next season (even if most of it comes from the other team :-)

Friedel Young Laursen Curtis Shorey Petrov ReoCoker Barry A.Young Carew Agbonglahor
Sorensen Delap Shawcross Cort Griff Liam Seyi Diao Fuller Sidders Kitson
Tip for Villa - play wide with Ash & Gabby and you've got Griff and Delap nailed. Tip for Stoke. Crowd the midfield and hit em 'Denis Smith' Hard.

He was also an underdog against the classier Kostya Tszyu and kicked his arse.
If anyone is telling me that Bolton and 'Boro are the Mayweather's of the Premier League they want their bumps felt.

With the current defence any thoughts on what formation we might play....flood midfield with 4..5...1 I think thats a fair point...anybody whose shelled out over 750 quid for 2 season-tickets (like me) wants value for their money...if you went out and bought a car and it didn't work..would you just sit back and admire it sitting on the drive? Would you fuck!! So why are Stoke fans just expected to sit back and be 'grateful' for being in The Prem? It's about time some Stoke 'fans' got off their knees and stopped grovelling to the Club..because Stoke City means fuck-all without its loyal supporteres...and its time we all started looking-up and tried to emulate the 'bigger' clubs..than just accepting 'our lot' in life without a fight Can you imagine Liverpool, Man U, Newcastle, Villa fans putting up with the shit we've put up with over the years? Are the people who support Stoke any different from Scousers, Mancs and Geordies?? NO we are not...so if it's good enough for them then it's good enough for us Psychologically, there is a certain 'mind-set' in The Potteries..we are conditioned from early days to almost accept defeat..as though it's inevitable...a complete lack of belief in ourselves..the Theory of Learned Helplessness...which is projected onto things around us..such as the football club we support..it's a chain of thought that needs snapping...the sooner the fucking better

I just don't know what happened over the weekend when everyone decided to panic.
I had my miserbale phase weeks ago when any percieved advantage we had over over Hull was exposed as being utter bullshit.
Since then we haven't exactly been left behind in the market with all of our likely company at the bottom of the division bar Fulham are having similar difficulties to us.

Thus, they are gonna get hit 'Denis Smith' hard.

Sheikh, scrapping like pit bulls isn't exactly what we renowned for to be honest.Yes, we had spirit last year, and yes we showed resolve, but an ability to get the ball down on the floor and knock it about is going to be required in the Prem.

An "ard team we may be but we lack the pace, creativity real quality and guile required for the premiership.
That is why its called the PREMIER-ship because its the best.

Yes and as it stands we will go down. However a two or three more signings of the same quality as the ones as we've made and there are three clubs we could feasibly aim at finishing above of. You're making it sound like we'll be playing the top four every week.
I've never known a messageboard descend in to such irrational, squealing sissydom in all my life.
You want to get a grip!

Stoke are 5-1 to beat Bolton and 8-1 to beat Villa Talk about writing on the wall Depsite us being best priced 4/1 to beat Bolton backed in from 9/2 with all major bookmakers and tipped up as best long shot of the opening weekend as reported in yesterday's Racing Post. If we're 8/1 at home against Villa I'll eat my cock, can you provide a link I'm going to fill my boots.

Yes Sheikh, but two of our first three games are against teams who won't get anywhere near the top 4 and we're approaching kick-off with an understrength squad!

5 to 1 to beat Bolton, I'll have some of that. Why all the doom and gloom? Yes, it would be nice if we had signed a few more players. A lot can happen in a week, so there may well be more signings to come. There appears to be a fantastic spirit amongst the players, it's such a shame that the spirit of some of our supporters is so weak.
