After last night I'm puzzled.
Why did Ant Pulis play in midfield (and yes, he was poor, looking exactly what he is, at best a 1st div midfielder)?
Diao could have done with a full 90 mins. Pugh could have had a start in the middle (to see how he does in what appears to be his best position).
So what do we do? We play a 'midfielder' who has not made ONE start in the Championship for us in over 3 and half years on our books. Not one. Just how can this be viewed as preparation for the Prem I don't know.

It'll have to remain one of life's mysteries.
I think if we devoted any effort to finding a logical explanation, we'd go mad.
Still, we can but hope Whelan had a nice 48 hours in Hampshire.

Really don't want to knock TP but would he be even be considered if he wasn't his son?
I bloody doubt it.

I just hope Glenn did spend the whole 48 hours in Hampshire and didn't spend some of it down the coast in Devon talking to Sturrock.
As for Lil Ant, words fail me. Okay, give him a contract, Tone if you must and Debbie insists, but don't bloody play the lad in the first team at the expense of regulars, for God's sake.

fookin baffling... ???
the only thing you can think about is that some lower league club has put a bid in for him and part of the negotiations was a viewing last night.

I think Tony has done a great job so far. Hes got us promoted, hes bought 3 great players to the club so far and fingers crossed we'll have some more to drool over over the next couple of weeks.
However....every dad wants his son to do well, but surely TP is taking nepotism to a whole new level. Ant Jr has made 20 appearances in 5 years. That averages out at 4 a year. 4 games a year. Im no football manager but Im fairly certain that Little Ant wouldnt be playing professional football if his dad wasnt the manager. Its one of the few things that pisses me off about TP.

he was always going to give his son the firendlies.
Would you rather he started him against Bolton instead?
he won't feature in the team he just wanted to give his son some games, and he gave everyone else games too

Maybe TP's Mrs (who lives in Bounemouth) insisted that he played last night? It would save her a few hours journey to see her son 'play' football wouldn't it?
One thing for sure: his playing last night had nowt to do with football (if somebody wanted to view him prior to signing, why isn't he out on trial?).

The whole little Ant saga is a bit seedy really and prefer to try and ignore it. It doesn't really do any one any favours....PC for allowing it...TP for blatant and bare faced nepotism...and little Ant who I am sure gets a lot of stick from his team mates...........it also ties up a wage...god knows how much he earns...at any other club he would be gone

For the sake of his own career he needs to move on.

He's done well to last as long as he has. Amazingly, he signed on Christmas Eve, 2004.
I'd have preferred a pair of socks.

For the sake of his own career he needs to move on. What career? If he ever gets released from here, he'll end up somewhere like Leek Town after failed football league trials, then they'll realise he probably isn't good enough to take them forward! He isn't a pro-footballer, if he could make it at the pro level he wouldn't be here now, via Plymouth and Portsmouth.

....every dad wants his son to do well, but surely TP is taking nepotism to a whole new level. Not really - Nothing new is it? I'm not defending the practice, but I wouldn't describe it as "nepotism to a whole new level" either.
