Don't suppose it's somethng as simple as someone hearing Whelan instead of Walton. Aren't they in for him from QPR??

Sturrock didnt place him on the transfer list of his accord - that was the Weds chairmans doing - so it could well be that Sturrock rates the player.

It was Liarkowski from the Birmingham Mail who said 'he'd heard' that a Stoke player had said that. Of course he provided no evidence and declined several invitations to reveal his information.
One can only conclude he’s a lying Baggie cunt.

Whelan was quoted as saying that his transfer to Stoke had turned out to be a "dream move" with the promotion and international callups - certainly wouldn't qualify as the worst move in anyone's career, would it? I wouldn't be surprised if Lepowski's player was Ameobi? Either way, I'd be very surprised if there was anything in this - although it would be funny since my bro has got Whelan and 6 on the back of his shirt... RoryM

Anyone who describes being injured and not being good enough on a three month loan as the worst move of their lives is a dickhead. Anyone who belives that horseshit is a bigger dickhead. Well done Liarkowski.

Would he rather play for stoke against the likes of Fabregas and Torres?, or for Pastymouth against the world class Darel Russell and the mesmerising, ageless Andy Cole. Hmmmm, difficult one that.....

I'd be surprised if he left , think he has the ability and if anything he prem should suit his style, also moving to Stoke did him a lot of favours both in terms of a promotion bonus and getting into the national side.
I suppose he could go as part exchange for a player who was better but cant think of any at Plymouth at the moment who we would need.

Whelan isn't going anywhere!
Lardy budge is correct they've got Walton from QPR for £500K another midfielder.
