Just had some of those Hot Rods from KFC, and they were fairly hot. Just got me thinking what's the hottest or spiciest thing you've ever eaten, and how did your body react to it?

Progressed from Madras, through to Jal Frezi, and then Vindaloo
After a few Vindaloos, which were pretty warm to say the least I had the crazy idea of taking on a Chicken Phal
If you havent tried it dont
I drank iced water all night and didnt enjoy it for one minute
No fucker can eat that stuff and say they enjoyed it ???

I was also foolish enough to try a Phal curry. So stupidly hot you can't taste the flavors. Drinking water seemed to make it burn more. Glad I've experienced it but will not be ordering one again.

Ordered a Dupiaza at one of the curry houses in Newcastle.
No way was it a Dupiaza as I've had loads of them before but as the lads I was with were pissing around, all of us found our curries more than a bit hotter than what we expected....therefore, dont know what I actually had but, it was hotter than a Vindaloo

One of them Find-A-Loo things that you used to be able to buy at asda, the ones that had a chilli rating of like 6 compared to 4 for the vindaloo

Personally love hot hot food and often had a Phal although usually have a mutton vindaloo.A Phal kind of ruins a nice hot curry
Wasabi sauce a nice spicy mouth tingler-girls here are very partial to Pappaya Pok Pok a very hot salad- not a fan myself due to the ingredients but extremely hot.
Went to a place in Arizona that claimed to have the hottest chilli in the USA- hardly. Have had hotter from the supermarket

It's emblem is a skull & cross bones, and it actually has health & safety warnings stating that it is not for the young, old or infirm - this f*cker is hot!
Used about 5 grammes in two years & it kills people, mar mate got some in his eye, pisser ;D

A few years back my mate Mick and did a road trip in the States driving from Washington through Virginia via Chatanooga to Nashville. We decided to drive back to DC via a northern route and entered a University town in the south of Ohio.
We found a student bar, not too busy as it was midweek and the kids were probably studying.
On the menu were spicy buffalo wings and you could choose how hot you would like them, the range being 1 to 10.
1 was of course very mild whilst 10 was advertised as likely to blind you.
Now Mick and I love hot curries and he cockily suggested that we went for number 10. Me, thinking this is a Uni town full of all-American Jocks who want to prove a point, suggested that perhaps number 7 might be a bit more sensible.
No. 7 it was.
FUCK ME they were hot. Not just silly hot and spicy, but spewing volcano lava hot. I broke out into my usual spicy food sweat but this time I could barely see the fucking plate as my eyes watered so much.
My lips burnt as if I had sucked the exhaust of a bus and my fingers throbbed more than if I had dipped them in molten tar.
We did finish them but I had to rush to the bog to sluice my burning face, fingers and lips with cold water for a full ten minutes.
Mick admitted later that he was glad that we didn't go for number 10. Never did find out what they had been flavoured with.

There is some pussies on here! The thing is with 'hottest/speciest' food is there are two types - one being spice based (mainly indian) and the other being chilli (SE Asia). I eat untold amount of chilli in food every day. My favourite Cucumber Salad just ain't the same if it doesn't strip the lining off your tongue - I like a minimum of 10 chillis in it (local birdseye variety). Add to the fact that it has a liquid in it magnifies the potency. Pretty much all lao food is based around chillis it's the staple ingredient - also for those who've visited Thailand and eaten hot spicy food. That was most likely a Lao dish since the NE of Thailand 'used to be' Laos and many of the dishes have been acquired and called there own by Thais. Such as the Papaya Salad JC mentions previously. For those who don't know the very worst you can do when eating spicy food is drink water. Since when you eat chillis you taste buds on your tongue close up - kind of like a shock reaction to the chilli, however when you drink water they open up again (and the Chilli effect magnifies hugely). Milk is the best thing to drink to smooth you tongue or spoon of sugar.

When I saw this thread I wondered how long you'd take to appear I once ate chillied monkey nads in Nepal or molten lava deep fried turtle brain in a Vietnamese opium den ;D Seriously though-have to agree nowhere beats Issarn/Laos etc for spicy food- makes a Phal seem like a Vesta happy meal from Asda. As for milk- as you know I hate the stuff, a nice Lemon shake just the job.

I like all of my food hot, I have a Vindaloo at the Indian and put hot sauce in most of my cooking. I've got this one particular hot sauce that takes some beating: I get people to put one tiny drop on their finger and put it on their tongue and that is beyond hot, It's up there with french kissing an open flame.

These 'hot' sauces I always found in general had a revolting taste. For pure strength you can't beat straight forward chillis. pjnottj - that's a standard 'jael' (as they would say here) that they have with lao food take about 20 or 30 birds eye chillis finely chop them up and add fish sauce. Then add it to your rice to you liking

Had a chicken phal many years ago and finished the lot off along with all the shit roll afterwards.
After asking what the hottest curry is that's available i was told that there is no limit as to how hot you can get a curry, in fact he said that there is a bloke that comes in that has a phal with raw chilly peppers on top and finishes the lot.
Then went onto say that some curry houses will actually make you sign an agreement if you ask for a really hot curry so that you cannot/will not sue them.
Best thing to cool down afterwards is to have a bowl of ice cream.

going to uni up in the North East, ordered the vindaloo once on a lads night out to the curry house. Now I must say I'm usually a massive fan of Vindaloo's and never find them much of a problem spice wise. The bloke gave me a kind of wry knowing "your going to be shitting all day tomorrow" smile when I ordered it.
Needless to say when the thing came it bruned my fucking tongue right off. Got through my first pint in minutes, ordered another one and the bloke suddenly dissapeared. He came back 15 minutes later and apologised, laughing, that he'd forgotten my pint> Spent the entire meal sweating, even had tears streaming down my face at one point. What a great curry though ;D ;D ;D
will definitely confirm MILK (or lassi if your in a curry house) is the best drink to go with a real spicy curry!
