Whoever has made the selection decisions this year should go. Wether that's Vaughan I don't think anyone out of a small circle of important people know.

well, he did do something. Won the ashes. Can't say "thanks for nothing."

Strewth, he's arguably been our most successful captain ever!! It's hardly as if there is a ready made captain to step into his shoes either!
I for one hope he gets back into the side as a batsman over the winter.

No problems with Vaughan whatsoever, but he did the right thing by jumping before he was pushed.
Dignified till the end, I thought he made a very good England captain.
Where now? Pietersen?

it will be pietersen for both jobs.
vaughan may have lost his form with the bat but he was the most successful england captain EVER and i cant see us winning the ashes without him as captain. pietersen's form will suffer because of it and he hasnt got the same cricket brain as vaughan.

Vaughan is Englands most successful captain and as mentioned was in charge of an ashes winning series. Add to this the fact that he has been rated as the number 1 batsman in the world. I agree he hasn't been in the greatest form of late, but form is temporary and class is permanent.

There is no 'arguably' about it, Michael Vaughan is England's most successful captain ever. It was time for him to resign as captain, but I hope that once he's had time off and got his head straight, he regains the form that once made him the best test batsman in the world. Cheers Vaughany

That Ashes series was electric viewing, and he has been our most successful captain
However, he must score runs at three, and did the right thing in relinquishing the captaincy
Nothing to say he wont play as a bastman
Bothams form was useless as captain, but look what happened in 1981 when he was stripped of the job. He just played cricket the way he knows how and transformed the England side
