I am no manc fan but must say that this is one of the best books by an ex footballer that I have read and look forward to reading his book about his England years.

Probably what you would expect,he was a fantastic footballer who had flaws that Busby could find ways around to keep him in the team because he was that good. There is a great chapter near the start of the book where he and Jack shared a part time job to pay for trips to Newcastle or Sunderland to see one Stanley Matthews when he was up there playing for Blackpool.

Marvellous book. In an age where you get has beens and never will be's releasing thier story when, quite frankly, there is no story to tell, Bobby Charltons is wonderful. A brilliant player who won everything and experienced so much.
A great (and tragic) story told wonderfully.
