it was my first professional stage show that i was working on.cant remember what it was, some touring kids show.
to say that i was nervous was an under statment, i was passing bricks. what the hell was i doing here?
i was a stage 'tech i might add,my first job was to run on stage, take something off, a box i think.but only at a given signal.easy enough i thought, cant go wrong here.
god how wrong i was.it was as black as night behind the curtains ready to run on.that black that i couldn't see the producors signal to "321...GO". i totaly lost my bearings,i got tangled up in the thick curtains for a few seconds,i totaly lost everyone.
they must have gone i thought.i've got to go or my "prop" will still be stuck on stage...I'M GOING...I'M GOING!!
with that, i ran on to the stage, picked up the box then.......realized that i had gone on stage too soon.the actor was still using this box. i had entered the stage while they were still mid scene!!
"oh, can i have that back off you" he said,as i handed it back, then ran off! but then, a few seconds later it was my offical cue to enter the stage.i missed that,so ran on again a few seconds late, and they were acting again!!
hello again, the actor said, you can have this box now!!
please bear in mind.there was almost 2,000 people watching this.my work mates never let me live it down! what a plonka.
any one else had a bad first day like this??

Had a similar experience myself actually....
Was in the scouts many moons ago and we used to put on the "birdie boys" show on at the mitchell memorial, full house and all.
Came on stage and had to say my piece in front of the (electric) campfire, didn't see the cable unfortunatley, went arsehole-tit! Carried on with my part in near tears before exiting stage with a broken wrist and severley dented ego!

College isn't work but I hope I can get an exception, I was arc-welding at burslem college, With only 15 minutes to go till I pack my stuff and go home I decided to weld ''Vale R Wank'' in small welded writing on a metal plate, Since my mask is obviously extremely dark to protect my eyes from the welding light I didn't have much of a clue where I was welding, So I welded Vale R Wank on my work bench by mistake, Was fucking shitting it when I couldn't file it off Luckily we swap work places every week so I didn't get in any shit.

First day working at Bargain Booze I managed to drop not one, but two cases of Jack Daniels, smashing every single one. And then my till was about £70 down as well. Whoops.
