Just seen Ade Akinbye pull onto A500 on his way from the ground -big ugly Audi 4x4 thing with personalised plates.
Let's hope we aren't looking at possible cost effective replacements/loan signings for Ricardo!

Still lives in Stafford, doesn't he?
He'd be a better bet than Periwinkle though!

Is Mama going to be missing soon due to the African nations cup ? we have Parkin but he's no work horse like mama and pericard just isnt an option.

Noooooooooooooo. Not Akinbyi. FFS. Does he have dirty pictures of Tony smeared in marmalade or something? We cannot be seriously considering resigning him.

I dont believe that if we are looking to get to the prem then any of those three should be an option.

I'd love to see Ade back. Admitedly, he can't hit a cows arse with a banjo, but he works hard, he is dead strong, and he frightens defenders. Teamed up with Fuller could be a good partnership.

If he's available i doubt Pulis could resist him, he might do a job as fill in for mama.
Can anyone confirm that Mama is going to the ANC ? if so then this story could have some truth in it.

Mama's been named in Mali's preliminary squad - but isn't he still deciding whether to continue his international career?
I can't see Pulis being interested in him - it'll just be a case of him driving home to Stafford as he still lives locally.

Maybe we should sign Brammer in case Delap is ever injured and we need someone else to give the ball away in mid-field.

He isn't good enough to be one of our first choice strikers. But a loan or a free on a short term contract to the end of the season as cover wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd rather have him on the bench than Pericard!

Pericards a bit of a poor touchstone though isn't he? If we go down that route, signing virtually any existing professional footballer would improve our bench.

True, but Pericard is our 4th choice striker at the moment. Ade wasn't the first name to spring to mind to strengthen the squad but if he were to become available on loan or on a free then I would prefer him in the squad over Pericard. Midfield (creative centre and a winger) remains the priority but if Ade were available cheaply to cover if Mama goes to the ACN then I'd be pleased.

To be fair, he is arguably 5th choice now - and will only be 4th choice for January if Mama's away. The Bristol City and Burnley games (bizarrely) argued against this - but now we've got Pugh settled in the squad, surely we'd shift Cresswell up front rather than play Winkle? Even Pulis must be getting the message re Pericard by now

At the moment, we're winning games by frightening sides to death before we kick off. On that score, Ade would be a positive. OS.

I assumed we were winning by scoring more than them. Now I know I haven't been a game in a while but surely the rules haven't changed? It hasn't been that long.

We could have worse, much worse, signings than Ade to strengthen the squad. To strengthen that is, not to replace those that we have.

Or we could bring back Adam Rooney from his loan spell, switch Cressie up front and play Philips/Pugh on the left?
Akinbiyi is/was wank. He was the first time he was here, and time will not have improved the situation.
I think the argument is academic anyway. I reckon Sidibe won't go. Would you?
