Mate you might have seen the other thread about me losing my job as a joiner, anyway I know how you feel I do 2 days joinery at college and 3 days working as a joiner, well until they laid me off now its just college. I'm seriously considering jacking in the building game because of lack of apprenticeships and jobs, now days its not what you know it who you know so if you have any contacts who are in the building industry give them a call its the best way. good luck finding a job mate.

Just want to make a point that flipping burgers as you call is a very good job.
I worked for the Big Mac for 9 years and worked my up to Store Manager before i left - there training program and carear prospects are excellent.
I know that people slag it off but to some people its their life, they love it and most, not all of the people that slag it off could not cope working for them as it is a really difficult job
End of rant

Come on Dave. Even if some of them are not the most inteligent people at least they are working. How many people sit on the dole year after year because they don't want to work "flipping burgers". My Daughter is a full time student and I gave her the option of doing 5 different jobs but she decided not to work through the summer. I've given her pocket money as I always do but no raise. Guess what, she's skint and cn't do all the things she wants to do and I'm not funding them. I'm sure she'll take up one of my offers next summer. Please don't knock the peopl who are making an effort. By the looks of the management packages that Mc Donalds offer I'd guess that they are better packages that the majority of people earn on here. Ursemboys, good luck with your hunt for work. Take what you can kiddo as it's much easier to get a job once you've got one.

If I were ever out of work, which I frequently am, I don't think I'd turn to a football fanzine messageboard for career advice.
Mind you, having said that, I probably would.
Carry on.
