.... Superleague. It is years since I watched Rugby League on TV and though I live close to a number of Rugby league grounds. I was amazed at the announcement that there would be no relegation or promotion for 3 years. With the excuse for the good of the game. How long before the Premiership come up with similar ideas? www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/jul/22/superleague.rugbyleague1

That sounds like a ridiculous idea IMO. I feel sorry for the club that finishes top of the league in the second tier, knowing you will be in the same league again the following year!

This sport is becoming a farce We have two local teams and I don't know how those that follow them manage to take it seriously any more The make-up of the enlarged superleague is being decided by a friggin committee rather than compeitition!!! And not having any relegation or promotion just makes a mockery of it Plus god knows how they decide on where these teams come from A dozen teams from Yorks and Lancs, a London team and a couple of frenchies I don't even know who half of them are any more as they keep changing their names 'Super' indeed

The NRL in Australia doesn't have promotion or relegation. Could they be following that model?

Plus god knows how they decide on where these teams come from I hate to point out the spelling mistakes of message board users, but I think you will find that its spelt... "Pulis god knows how they decide on where these teams come from" ;D
