I'm hope i'm not alone when i say that i'm sick of the media and pundits writing us off before a ball has been kicked and making us guaranteed relegation candidates.
Sure we need team strengthening, but do we need to go down the Hull road and sign tired old 30-something players, when what we need is quality not quantity
People like Le Tissier should keep their gobs shut until the season has started, then they can give there opinion after they see us actually play, and if we are poor then they can have there say about us being relegation candidates, but if/until that happens just keep your bloody big mouths shut cos i dont want to hear you or your fellow pundits put my team down.
In fact why cant you just be happy that my team, that has had the likes of Matthews, Shilton,Banks, Hudson etc, deserves its chance in the higher echelons of the league pyramid.
So, just for once Le Tiss, Hanson, Talk Sport, Five Live, Lawro, etc, just shut the f**k up and stop putting down my team.

There is no way we can be classed as anything but relegation candidates, we're going to be down the bottom, no mistake.
the tone of some pundits is annoying though, they seem exasperated at us being promoted, almost "why do you bother, small fry, you're just going to get battered", yet haven't a word to say about how competition has been killed off, nor any affection for a club with history, nor any sense of rooting for a club who has just bettered it's all time history (hull). The same fuckers will be pretending to want FA cup upsets next January.

Banksy
i dont doubt we will be near the bottom but to write us off before a ball has been kicked annoys me.
if these pundits were any good they would be managers too, but the likes of Hanson, Lawro, etc prefer to slag clubs like us off, rather than get their hands dirty and manage a club.
I'd rather have the likes of Bobby Robson, and good ex managers as pundits cos at least they know the game from top to bottom.
Agree with you on the FA cup issue too.

So, just for once Le Tiss, Hanson, Talk Sport, Five Live, Lawro, etc, just shut the f**k up and stop putting down my team. It's because history and heritage count for jack sh*t these days. Football didn't exist before 1992 didn't you know? Then the great god of satellite TV said "Let there be Sky Sports" and there was SkySports. "Let there be money" and there was money a plenty. "Let there be over-paid fat-cats on and off the pitch" and Lo! The Premier League was born and "Football-as-we know-it" was saved. Can I get a "Hallelujah?!". Seriously - I was at a do down south last month and spent ages talking to a Northampton Town supporter. Not only was it a pleasure to talk to a "proper" football supporter (went to games, home and away) , but also remembered Stoke with some affection - Violett and Eastham were discussed as if they were still playing, the Brit was a great Stadium to visit etc. He wished Stoke the best and genuinely wanted them to stay up - almost as a representative of "the old school". Fans of Premier League teams who watch from the sofa/bar stool just don't have a clue.

spot on mate.
Pre 1992 footie = pride, passion, history and player loyalty.
Post 1992 footie = overpaid, over-rated and over here players who jump ship at the merest hint of a pay hike.

enjoy the game boys and see ya when i do, hopefully at bolton if you are going.
this transfer shit is really beginning to get on my nerves, and whilst trying to stay positive, i am beginning to think we are going about this transfer thing all wrong. 23 years it has took us to get here and i hope to god we don't fuck up on the transfer front.
