Went to Painsley and Moorlands VI Form... An utter shithole but I love it. The accent pisses me off but there are some sound people, and pre-refurb the Master Potter was brilliant.

Cheeky bastards. I think you refer to the inbred contingent we have in Cheadle. Thankfully neither of my parents are from Cheadle or it's neighbouring towns!
It's not that bad though, when compared to Tean, Kingsley, Dilhorne and Draycott, as there is more available.
Not sure about the Potter, it's pleasant enough and the facilties aren't too bad, but the service can sometimes be non-existant as staff stand there nattering instead of serving waiting customers. Such a poor standard of customer service starts to put me off the place. It's just a shame that there isn't much to rival it!

Not so sure about the counting, anything past four and they not got enough fingers and thumbs to go any higher, shame what inbreeding does for you!
Mind you nobody has mentioned Uttoxeter or Rocester, makes cheadle look like the cosmopolitan capital of the UK!

Not the Black Horse no, i'm only 21 and not aware of it. As i play darts though, yes i have been in the Alton Castle a few times. Quite simply, it's a shit hole.
I don't know why you assumed i'd never been in there though? Unless you thought i meant to rival the poor customer service? I meant to rival the pub itself, as most pubs in Cheadle (which ones are left anyway) are quite poor! The service in the Castle isn't too bad, it's just a shit hole.

I played cricket for Cheadle for a good number of years, and also worked at the Cheadle and Tean Times on Tape Street
We used to use the Alton Castle, and it was frequented by the Peggs and the Cheadle Cowboys (not nice)
The Black Horse fuckin wreaked of stale beer, and Dolly Brunts chippy had the best battered sausages ever ;D
Doing one now, see yers tomorrow

Black horse has long gone, think its tv repair shop or something now.
Master POtter was an OK boozer about 20 yrs ago until it was sold to the food type chain pubs.
Back room had pool, skittles and darts and the front room for special occasions only, christmas etc.............

Is The Bird in Hand still there? Remember being served there when I was about fifteen, was well chuffed with myself. And The Lamplighter. Both absolute dumps but when you're young and foolish and able to get served then anywhere seems like heaven.

I went Cheadle once, tiny pub on a corner, possible called bird in hand. Anyway, got me beer, all going well, then turned round to see a massive photo of some old guy starkers in a bath!
Spat beer out - left pronto.
