Cool video. I said this last time somebody posted that clip, but I never realised they kept the Boothen/Butler St corner roof when they re-roofed the rest of Butler St. I can only remember that corner being open with the clock on it.

I'm a 31 year old man, so it really is pathetic how much i miss the Stoke End Floodlights. I thought they were the bestest thing ever.
God i miss that place.

Made the hairs on me neck stand up! Just remembering the atmosphere of that place, when we beat Man City 3 1 and beating Man Ure 2 1. God what brilliant brilliant days.

noticed charlton had the fences up what year did the fences go up, thought it was later than that?

Fences went up for the start of the 79/80 season back in the first division.

It was quirky how the two sets of floodlights were a different shape. I preferred the Boothen End shape.

Chawners? Weren't they the clothes shop up Hanley where you could get all the gear like Ben Sherman, Levis, 2 Tone Tonic strides, crombies etc etc.
