I think we have to be realistic and just because he is at the Brit, it doesn't actually mean he is signing. He's probably come to see what we are offering. I certainly don't expect an outcome today. Great if we sign him, if not oh well.

Im not sure myself which i would prefer him or Fulop Carson £3.5-£4, Fulop £2-£4 (depending on which newsrag you prefer to believe). Carson, England international, Fulop, Hungarian international. Carson has more Premiership experience than Fulop. I suppose it all comes back to money, and what the bean counters recommend the savings are used for. IE quality striker etc.

I really hope im wrong but i dont think he will come (ala Hulse)
this is going to massively deflate us ,in and out the club.

"Carson has more Premiership experience than Fulop." True h2g, but it doesn't necessarily make him a better keeper, I can't claim to know a great deal on Fulop and how good he actually is, BUT personally, I ain't to enthralled on the idea of having Carson between the sticks for us next season either, Hmmm!!!

If Carson comes, we might be able to attract other biggish names.

Whilst I'm not entirely certain whether we should have been shelling out £3-4M on a goalkeeper, I'd nevertheless be devastated at the loss of yet another near-signing, particularly when it's to a club with whom we should be on a par. The more time goes on, the more obvious it is becoming that wages are the problem. There have been a string of potential signings seemingly fallen by the wayside, with various players talking terms directly with the club, some of them visiting the Brit, yet not one of them has so far put pen to paper. It's crystal clear to me that none of the players we're chasing are willing to accept the terms on offer.
While this isn't the first time we've been in this situation (and subsequently gone on to be proved wrong in our pessimism), the situation appears considerably more desperate this time, because of a) The calibre of opposition, and b) The lack of loan opportunities this season.
Come on Stoke. One way or another you've got to nail some of these f*****s down!

If he (Carson) goes to the Baggies we will see suicides on here. Feet on the flloor boys. Stop talking out of your harris kevkj, Carson is not as good as Nash and judging by his time on loan at Charlton I think Simmo is every bit as good. Forget him and let's spend the £4m elsewhere.

With all due respect to Simmo, Carson was absolutely outstanding at Charlton. Simmo is a very good keeper but Carson is better, the profile of the move will do us nothing but good in our quset for new players. Hes an England international for Gods sake.

i think we may of offered him a good deal and hes just seeing what the wages boro or whoever are offering. at the end of the day hes an english international goalkeeper and IMO its been a good attempt at securing a top signing even if we dont get him. hats of to the management for having a go. TP has always stated that he will only strengthen the squad with players that will improve the team and its worked so far. i beleive hes coming to us if theres only a few grand in it due to geography if nothing else

fair play to carson and his agent - they're only doing what you or I would do in the same circumstances. From a playing perspective not too bothered if he doesn't come as I think we'll defo get Fulop.
There are however two other elements to this whole deal
1. the message we send out to other prospective signings (negative) 2. if you were carson and you joined Boro/ West Brom would you really fancy standing in front of 20,000 slightly agitated Stokies? Therefore if he doesn't come its a guaranteed win at home :-)

It could be a great bit of work by our Tone !! Have a chat with Carson, let everyone know he has been at the Brit, and let the Baggies have him , at an inflated price !!
I still think Fulop is our main target and hope Tone has been playing games !! The baggies have £4 mil less to spend ??
