Matt Taylor, Lauren, Pedro Mendes, Djimi Traore and Richard Hughes face being sold by Portsmouth in January. (Times)
Will Pulis go back in for him? Would be a good signing I reckon.

I wouldn't mind him either.
Djimi Traore on the other hand can continue his Titus Bramble tribute act well away from these shores!

Don't blame it on the Biscan, Don't blame it on the Hamann, Don't blame it on the Finnan, Blame it on Traore, He just can't, He just can't, He just can't control his feet. He just can't, He just can't, He just can't control his feet.

I'd actually consider loaning him for a month just to boost the morale of our players.
'Look lads this is how bad you could be'
'Take a shot Djimi!'

Either player would be a good signing. Whelan would probably be the more expensive.

Just had a butchers at Hughes stats, and whilst he fits the height criteria for a Stoke player, his goal scoring record is woeful. If we are looking for a goal scoring midfielder he doesn't look the job.
Never scored for Pompey. Scored 14 in 141 for Bournmouth, and 1 in 12 for Grimsby.

I'm not so sure Richard Hughes is the creative, playmaking type we're all crying out for. Certainly not from what glimpses I've seen of him where he's seemed little more than a willing runner. Mind you, TP likes his willing runners doesn't he so.................... I'd prefer Whelan myself

I've always thought of Hughes as a defensive midfielder and that is how Wiki describe him. If we hadn't got Diao I'd say he was worth a punt but with Diao we should be looking at a more creative type of player.

I'd hope for Whelan too.
He needs to add more goals to his game though, 12 in 141 league games isn't too impressive.
His creativity would be a major asset and would bump Fuller's goal tally to the over 20 mark and hopefully Cresswell around the 15 mark.

For me Lauren would be a ambitious but excellent signing, as wright isn't impressing me really at right-back, Lauren would be ideal there.
We need creativivty, which Pedro Mendes would bring, so who knows?, they would be two top signings, who if we offer big wages, we could land in my opinion.
As for Richard Hughes he would also be a good signing, if we can get him for the right price.
I think it's a certainty pulis will bring in at least one of the above players, who have been told they can leave in January.

I'm surpised to see Mendes' name in there to be honest. He seems to have been playing quite regularly. They're also going to have problems with the African Cup of Nations so I'm a little surprised to see they're shipping out anyone in January.

Don't think he's "pulling up any trees" at Preston this time though.

Isn't pulling up trees part of our intensive medical aswell? Shame that.

I'm not sure that given the fragile state of the world in which we live, we should be encouraging anyone to pull up trees.
Perhaps a re-jig of our medical could see potential players plant some trees, or go on a survival weekend with Ray Mears, or something.
Whatever the outcome, Richard Hughes can frig off.

Mmm, now there's a thing - not a Bentley in sight then at training grounds up & down the country.

It had sentimental value to him as well. It was the one Prince Philip bought him to run Diana off the road in Paris.
He's going to be fucking gutted.
