Que-cumber.. definately I've heard my girlfriend call it a Koo-cumber though. She's from Basingstoke originally so I don't know if it's a Southern thing ??? Feel free to correct me though She does however think that new ABBA film 'Mamma Mia' is pronounced 'Mumma Mia'

Originally they were called cowcumbers, so if you really want to confuse things...

Why do southerners have difficulty learning to speak English?
Bath = Barrff Grass = Grarse the bloody muppet newsreader on talksport pronounces pakistan as Park Eastern They don't even know when to use which word tea time is dinner time dinner time is lunch time etc! Crackers the bloomin lot of them!
I might go to the sarf and teach English and try and get them up to speed.

I used to get the piss taken out of me for saying "book" etc. rather than "buck" - and this was at Madeley!!! It had a catchment area of places like Madeley through to Loggerheads predominantly, and despite me living in the latter, I had a primary education at Oakhill so was brought up in the Stoke area, whilst the majority there all said "buck". Goes to show that there are some strange folk on the outskirts of the local area! But, to pick up on trebor's point, I've always used breakfast-dinner-tea rather than breakfast-lunch-dinner, dunner want to be associated with any saarrfffeeennneeerrrssss though!!!

It was always breakfast/dinner/tea for me.
Then move down south for a few years and its breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Move back up north and I have to get used to dinner/tea again!
Come on Mr.Brown get your finger out and tell us which one I should be following!
