I put a pair of K&Ns on me RD250DX back in 1979 in the misguided belief they'd make it go faster. They were so fiddly to fit I ended up cutting the old airfilter box out of the frame with a pair of tin snips..... so no way back..... got them fitted and it ran like a dog. No end of messing with the jet sizes or mixture or whatever - killed it stone dead and I had to sell it in the end....... ahhhh happy days... holed the pistons on an RD400 not long after - never did get the hang of tuning two-strokes.....!!!
