Independance day today.. Americans celebrating it, all over the place.
St Georges day - No one seems to celebrate this WHY? All the English seem to do is celebrate ST Patricks day because its the chance of a good piss up?!
We dont really have anything that us as English people can celebrate together.. or is it just that other people cant be arsed to celebrate St Georges day?

its not something to do with this being a protestant country , and a big old knees up some saint being a catholic thing to do .
google a list of protestant countries (germany, holland, all of scandinavia ... this protestant thing seems to be a northern european thing) then look in their patron siant, and see if they throw a big party for it , thing you will find they don't .
The Irish have St. Patricks Day The french have Bastile day the yanks have Independence day
we have Guy Fawkes night, when we celebrate the foiling of a catholic plot to destroy parliament
