Pullis and West Brom tried desperately to keep him, offered 60k a week as far as I remember. Pulis did not want Mark Hughes to take one of his players and fought like he'll to stop it happening. Tony Pulis never put Scfc before West Brom ,he was a professional.

If he walked down my street and saw a stoke city ticket stub in the back of my car and said to me
"YO! SHOOT. Fire away - you got me. What do you wanna know? Ill give you the inside scoop straight up"
Id look the other way, sit down on the pavement and pick bits of moss out of the cracks with a twig

It was entirely a Hughes decision he thought he could rehabilitate him he was wrong on this occasion. He was probably worth the gamble there was more evidence there was a player in there than Wimmer. The detractors never balance the Arnie profit out against Wimmer Imbula and Berahino. We really didn’t have an untypical failure rate, big money flop are a par for the course in the Prem and flops in football generally. We simply didn’t invest enough in the attacking third in the Summer prior to relegation. Then we panicked and Lambert made a bad situation even worse. Goals are king in modern football not clean sheets.

Former employee blames performance on former employer. What a shock. You’d think with 4 goals in 38 in the Cypriot league he might have stopped to think it might not be anybody else’s fault…

Probably the worst signing we ever made. (I know there have been many others) I recall at the time there was a multi page thread on here prior to him joining us. Many were in favour although I am sure they would deny it now. For me it was the biggest indication of incompetence from Hughes and the senior management and the start of our demise as an established PL club.

Absolute tool. 12 million we wasted on that idiot. He wasn't worth 12 grand.
Waste of talent and a waste of time for us. A few ex-players after said his attitude was awful (Johnson and Crouch). I couldn't even tell you how many goals he scored for us or games he played.
Didn't he turn up a day early to a game one weekend and then posted about it on SM like it was hilarious?
He was on the verge on the England squad and a move to Tottenham at one point early in his career.

Who signs someone who drives down QPR to force a deal? A disgraceful piece of business and I hope the person who sanctioned this is no longer at the club.

Would have saved on the petrol.

Not sure how he'd know considering he didn't do any work.
His signing was one of the nails in the coffin.

Goals are king in modern football not clean sheets. Actually Hughes wanted Lacazette from Lyon and chased him for about a year. We signed Berahinho about 5 months after . Was a bit of a come down

In fairness, after coming on at half time, he'd scored one of the goals, set up the other, then 'won' the penalty himself. Admittedly though, that was as good as it got for him here.
