When I started watching Stoke Viv Busby was the player that stuck in my mind..solely because he was the only player with a beard. Always takes me back to that era when I hear his name.
Thoughts going out to his family.

No way :-( Best known for his well groomed hair and night clubbing beard. You could have put his picture in any reputable male hairdressing salon. RIP Viv

RIP Viv!!! 😔
My fondest memory of Viv heading in the opening goal of the season against Coventry on our return to Division 1, back in 1979/80 season!!! Nice sunny day and a 3-2 win for Stoke... Busby and Crooks (2) with the goals!!!

I remember him mainly for some game where I think we smashed Norwich for 5. Don’t recall him ever being a shoe in for the starting 11 though.
Given I’ve seen another post that said he was at Norwich for a fair while I don’t even really know whether he was playing for us or them.

Great memories and very sad news when I first read this thread RIP Viv

Given I’ve seen another post that said he was at Norwich for a fair while I don’t even really know whether he was playing for us or them. He was only at Norwich for a season before he joined us. I remember being smashed at Norwich by 5 on the first of the season in the early 80s, I think he'd gone by then.
