Very valuable member of next seasons squad given his versatility and experience and attitude , will also allow us to go to the wire in the window in some positions if necessary .

As a squad member fine but not as a regular starter. Love to be proved wrong though.

He's away on the Mystery Bus playing Scrappy Doo with his Uncle Scooby. Unfortunately he'll miss more games whilst playing his other role as Tigger.

I like him but I worry that his presence will tempt Schumacher to continue to flirt with a wingback system. He’s probably the only one of our players that that formation actually suits.

One of the few who doesn’t hide and has bags of energy as a sub, can be called upon in a crisis etc

Possibly a good squad player, gives his all and lots of energy but he often runs into cul de sacs, doesn't get his head up enough for me, time and time again he doesn't see the pass or releases the ball too late or not at all and runs into trouble. OK but.....

Pretty much everybody had him down as a squad filler, including me, but he's actually pulled off some MoM performances which is way more than you would expect from a squad filler. Probably isn't going to be the main man but his versatility and attitude makes him a good asset and will keep everyone on their toes. Definitely worth keeping.

Gooch is and will be a very important squad member, as someone said, the best players, don't always make the best team, so his types are essential moving forward. Two footed as well, which is rare.

I wouldn’t worry about him not being a top 6 player.
We should probably assess if he’s a top half player, and if he is then he’ll do.

My little lad, 3 years old, does football training and to make things "interesting" for the kids they make things animals, superheros, cars, basically anything other than football.
One of the things they call dribbling from one foot to the other is "happy feet" (after the film) which just ends up with the kids running frantically after the ball they've clearly lost.
Can't help but see Lyndon in the same style as the three year olds and in the same way as a headless Darrel Russell. We don't need him AND Leris as a right wing back up option. Dont need Junior, Hoever (who we should re-sign on loan) and Gooch. Similarly at left back we should be seeking a young up and coming player and have Stevens / Thompson as options.
So either we get rid of Leris or Gooch for me. Not a bad player, just not one we need based upon our squad build at the moment.

There is an important role for Gooch in this squad, especially from the bench. Hard workers with limited quality can still be very valuable squad players.
