Malcolm, I saw all 3 of our wins that holocaust season which were against Man United and Arsenal (not too shabby!) and Sheffield Wednesday who were a serious outfit themselves at that time. Just a shame about all the other matches that season! I think we had it the season before as well. The days before yearly kit changes. images.app.goo.gl/NnZSM9Y72XQnqJfL8 Correct. And we kept the away kit for the following season back in Division 2.

Sorry but I loved the pinstripe bit I was about 9
I hate black on our kits.
Macron kits have been good
Adidas did the best away kits
This season is the best home kit we've had in ages for me

I commented to my daughter how glad I am that we haven't done what S'ton have. I think it looks awful. I blamed the holocaust season ( in which we only won 3 games and despite seeing us about 38/40 times that season I missed all 3 for different reasons - a family xmas stopped me seeing the boxing day win over Man U which hurt ! ) on that awful shirt. Credit to the club for holding the consultation meeting on the design of the 25/26 shirt. I found it a more interesting and complex topic than I expected it to be. Malcolm, I saw all 3 of our wins that holocaust season which were against Man United and Arsenal (not too shabby!) and Sheffield Wednesday who were a serious outfit themselves at that time. Just a shame about all the other matches that season! I suppose if you are only going to have 3 wins in a season, to have 2 of them against Man Utd and Arsenal is about as good as it could get, Godfrey ! I actually regard it as a sort of badge of honour which not many regular match-going fans can ever have - to see your team in the large majority of games but still go a whole season without seeing them win. Character-forming !

Stripes is one thing but, talking to other teams’ fans, the one thing that they think is distinctive and a tradition unique to us is the white shorts and, to a lesser extent, white cuffs and collar. Makes us different to SheffU, Sunderland, Southampton, Brentford, Lincoln, Exeter, Atlético 😜, etc. regardless of which of us mess around with the stripes. In fact, I get slightly miffed when one of those, SheffU most recently, adopt white shorts.
I shall now return to my interesting life, honest!

The good thing about macron is they give us bespoke kits and have definitely delved in to the heritage of the city, classic retro kits etc and they’re released and on the shelves a lot earlier than 90% of other clubs. They have been synonymous with a shit period for the club though I think it’s time for a change but I wouldn’t want to be served an identikit off the shelf number like adidas used to. We need a manufacturer that actually cares like macron have done. This. Make no mistake, we are "small fry" to the likes of Nike/Adidas/Puma etc. Say what you like about Macron, we were very much one of their "flagship" customers - we wouldn't get anything like that treatment from the "big boys". If you want to see what a f*ck up they're capable of , just Google "Nike MLB jersey issues". 3-stripe, swoosh, cat worship is over-rated (and overpriced).

I personally loved the all red back shirt and it was one of our greatest ever teams playing in it. Me too. Big time brand. I hate Macron. People moan about small time. That’s Macron in a nutshell. Yes let's get Nike in and then we can all moan at £90 a shirt

kitgeek.wordpress.com/2024/01/10/kit-manufacturers-breakdown-2023-24/With the uncertainty of the kit manufacturer for next season, I had a look at all of the manufacturers in the leagues for this season. Macron are second highest (may change next season), I see Southampton are going to Puma next year, Sunderland to Hummel, Wolves back to Adidas. I think macron have produced some great kits but unfortunately they are always remembered for relegation and our under achievements in the Championship. Athletico Madrids leaked 24/25 shirt looks decent, red & white strips with a blue trim in the strips.

Character-forming ! Exactly, you shouldn't be too sniffy about a bad season, makes you appreciate a good one when you see one! The thing about most bad seasons, including the current one, Godfrey, is that we have squeeky bum time worrying about relegation right up to the end of the season. 84/85 wasn't like that. Our fate was sealed months before the end, which gave us a kind of freedom, laced with gallows humour. Almost enjoyable in a bizarre sort of way. I think I would have almost been disappointed ( as well as being astonished !) to see us win, as it would have spoiled my record and the chance (like here) to proudly tell the tale

The Macron kits have been beautiful, despite us being largely awful while wearing them.
Conversely the Adidas ones when we were good in the Prem were among the worst shirts we’ve ever had. And dear god, think of those abominations LQS provided us with for our first season in the Prem. Or don’t, I try not to 🤮
I don’t see why one has to make any “associations” between kits and team performance. I’d wear this season’s shirt 100 times over rather than go anywhere near that pile of garbage we wore for the cup final.
Hoping Macron continue, they’ve been outstanding for us.

A Stoke strip should be red and white shirts ( predominantly white ) with white shorts and socks IMO of course I don’t attribute the socks as a key part of our kit colour. We’ve had both red and white over the years. I prefer red and associate us with being a better team when the socks are red…rightly or wrongly

They're incorrect of course.
