I was waiting to see if we dropped to L1 before I renewed.
I remember the third tier and am not interested in that level of football.
Last few games have given me confidence for next year. Delighted to renew my season ticket.

Agree with rowley there. Supporting Stoke City FC is nothing to do with entertainmemt. It's a unique culture. A unique passion. With all the agony, pain, euphoria and delight that goes with it.
I've been experiencing all that since 1977 when I was 11 years old!
Season ticket renewed with pride.
Up the Mighty Potters!

That was my final game as a season card holder. i'm just going to pick the odd game to go to.....reason in order... 1 - i genuinely dislike the owners (personal reasons) + they haven't a clue what they are doing 2 - long distance to games (costs) 3 - i'm starting to really dislike the people around me when things on the pitch are bad ( bit controversial i know) I support the decision to bring in Walters, and he seems to be working well with SS. Players seem to be playing for the young coach too ((( not convinced fully of his tactical nouse just yet))) I'm far from happy with recent seasons and while recently there's hope that things are changing, ( genuinely i like the majority of the Squad) the skeptic in me says i've seen this all before and always around season card renewal. Anyway fingers crossed i've made the wrong choice and the upcoming season get's us promoted

Delighted to renew my season ticket. I can't believe you've wrote that to be honest. What's wrong with waiting to see if we are relegated before spending £400? For full context, given the fall in real wages in the last 20 years, I am now not earning much more than the minimum wage. £400 is a very large outlay for me. Also I have a young baby, getting to matches relies on a mixture of the goodwill of my partner who isn't into football at all, my family and sometimes paying for a babysitter. To be clear, I've always been a Stoke fan and I always will be. I am of the age where it was first liverpool, then Manure that all the gloryhunters at my school supported. I still supported Stoke in the third tier back then, but yes I didn't have a season ticket and only went to occassional games when my parents could afford it. Football for me is a complex mixture of both entertainment, passion, connection to the local area, culture, politics and a social opportunity for me to spend time with my ageing dad and friends. Like any relationship though, it evolves over time and if it becomes too expensive, too corporate or if (to take an extreme example) the Saudis took over the club. I would still be a Stoke fan, I just wouldn't financially support them. If the Saudis owned the club, I would start or join any local pressure group to protest their ownership regularly and I admire the Newcastle fans who are doing this now. Even in the third tier I would still stream games and buy individual match tickets. If following relegation they cut the season ticket prices by a decent margin, I would probably renew. Not every Stoke fan can afford the cost of a Season Ticket and it shouldn't be the only measure of a fan. I will always be a Stoke fan until I die.

I expected more die hard stoke fans to come out and slag you off… disappointing that I haven’t seen many comments of passion and bleeding red and white.
I’ve already renewed mine, like the fucking idiot I am. I go more for a chat with those around me these days to be fair, a decent game of footy as rare as it is, it’s a bonus.

A lot of people forget that Stoke City isn’t everyones whole personality and they have lives, hobbies, families, commitments etc… away from watching a bunch of rich kids kicking a ball around.
Cost of living is through the roof and only getting worse, housing costs are ridiculous.
It also makes the decision more difficult when for the past handful of years it’s been nothing short of pathetic, entertainment to value had been at an all time low.
I go because a) I enjoy the people around me and it’s good to catch up, b) I can afford to do so without sacrificing financially or family wise.
Certainly would never criticise anyone who calls it a day.

Memories of Steins goal at Rotherham and other live long in the memory. It wasn't all bad.

It may prove more enjoyable if the last 6.5 years are anything to go by. *Not in your car. Just sit directly on the tarmac and if anyone tries to get you to move so they can park in the space tell them to fuck off because you've bought and paid for it.
