My first was 86 and remember a cartoon center fold but that might have been the 87 football league one where the Scottish teams had 2 players per sticker. Decided to do one for the 2018 world cup and ended up on the official swap website negotiating swap deals with kids which felt totally weird to be honest but wanted to complete it. Got to the point where you could order what was outstanding and the useless bastards sent me a duplicate Iranian so was left with one outstanding! Wanted to do this year's with the wee one but took one look, realised it wasn't Panini and rubbered it. 86/87 had Scottish Teams and also a couple of pages for division 2 so you got a Stoke badge and team photo. Don't recall a cartoon bit but there was definitely a world cup page in the middle so you have a sticker of the mexico 86 mascot and also a double page of Liverpool lifting various trophies. I completed Brazil 2014, vanquishing the ghosts of previous attempts to actually finish one. I worked next door to the football museum at the time and they had a swap meet on a couple of times a week which made it slightly less of a ball ache than usual. Googled it a few times and can't find it - wondering if it may have been slightly later because the reason I remember was these cartoon stickers had clear backgrounds and/or were cut to the shape of the silhouette so quite revolutionary at the time. Reason I reckon it was a World Cup one is because my gran's would come down to Stoke in summer holiday and buy me 20 packs of stickers so used to feel like an absolute legend back in school with loads of swaps. When I did it again in 2018 couldn't believe how quickly you went from banging loads in to barely one or two a pack not being swaps then almost all swaps soon after!
