Holland 3-0 Plymouth today.
Ed de Goey, Peter Hoekstra, Erik Pieters, today’s scorers
Have we ever had a bad Dutchman?

How differently things might have panned out if he didn’t hit the post against Liverpool.

There was Loek Ursem. And rumour has it we were offered some bloke called Ruud Gullit at the same time. Don’t know how true that is?

I was thinking about this earlier, have 3x individual Dutch players ever scored for a non Dutch League team before on foreign soil, International squad aside of course?! 🤔😉 Got to be some sort of record that..?

Guilit Van Basten and Rijkaard may have done for Milan? Loads of Dutch players have played in Germany and in England for that matter so probably however you never know it might be a first?

Affelay played 50 times for Holland you have to be a good footballer.
The side that Stoke had and the football in period when we beat Man City 2-nil then beat Everton away was sensational and he played huge part in that time.
I might be wrong but he got sent to Coventry by Hughes because he called out some of the played for training poorly and not up to standard.
And where are we know fighting for survival in the second tier of British football.
I know it’s 9 years ago but poor culture starts somewhere .
With success we have had with Dutch players it amazes me why we don’t shop in that market more.

Didn't we have Hans Segers on loan for a bit? One game in February 1987 away at West Brom, 1-4 loss to bring our winter run crashing down in flames.

With success we have had with Dutch players it amazes me why we don’t shop in that market more. AZ have got arguably the best youth training set up in Europe and have been successful in the youth European Champions League, and to address the issue about shopping in the Dutch market, I actually sent a letter a few years ago offering my setvices for free to Stoke if they ever wanted any reports on players or such. I’m in no way a qualified scout but to write up a report on a specific player……? As Clarkson always says ..:”how hard can it be”? Id still do it now if they wanted me to
