He makes his 400th appearance for the Owls when they play their crucial game at Blackburn This is in less than 10 years. He's 34 now and still was their best player on Saturday What a player he has been for them

Great name as well.
No one is called 'Barry Bannan' anymore.
Even if you did misspell Bannan!

The only thing I’d say about Barry Bannan is just get rid of that flimsy fringe quiff. He’s balder than legitimately bald people and is embarrassing himself. That said he is a throwback from the 80’s which is quite nice

A class player. It's difficult to understand how he's not been a PL regular at some time during his career.

A name straight from an 80's detective TV series. Been a good servant to them and a very good player. As others have said I'm surprised he hasn't played more times than he's managed to in the premier league throughout his career.

Good player but I just always remember a gross video of him being interviewed where some snot runs out of his nose and he manages to sniff it back up. Grim.

A Stoke player would have defo let it run off and past their mouth to the point of no return then pointed at a teammate for allowing it to happen

He did play for Villa for a few seasons in the prem and also Palace but not sure how many times he featured for them.

Perhaps age was against him We have a lot of good young players that will improve in time

Love watching him. A bit of a tragedy really that he hasn't made a Premier league career out of his obvious talent. Even at 34 he was absolutely miles above anything that was out there on Saturday.

The key to his talent is his movement. He gets into areas of space other midfielders at this level don't.
Try telling that to our strollers...

Couldn’t understand why we didn’t put someone on him wherever he went. Everything came through him, even the cross for the goal, but this doesn’t seem to be used as a tactic as much these days.

Barry Ryan Bannan
Entire name made up of 5 letters.
They did well to keep him in L1 where he ran the show (handsomely rewarded mind). Surprised to see him still do it at Championship level, but kudos to him.

Yes finding space was noticeable in a frenetic match on Saturday. The other thing I noticed was that we managed to pass the ball to him when he was in space !! Some players have a knack of attracting the ball or, maybe, anticipating where the ball is going - the best example I can recall is Alan Hudson who always seemed a step ahead of everyone else. The best strikers seem to have the same talent. Stokies seem to have noticed his performance more than many SW fans on Saturday.

I swear every time he plays us he turns into Pirlo.
At no point throughout the game did we pick him up and mark him at the game, another fine example of the management.

Why keep letting him have the ball in so much space?! It's like when at Sunderland we kept leaving Gooch 1v1 against Jack Clarke. I've seen Bannan play about 6 times this season, he was poor in all the games apart from Saturday.

Just prior to the free kick that lead to their goal, one of our defenders booted the ball high up in the air, and Bannan got himself in position to control the ball. During the 5 seconds the ball was in the air, Josh Laurent’s gaze went from the ball to Bannan and back again repeatedly, until Bannan controlled the ball at which point he sprang into life and kicked him over. Some of the shittest midfield play I’ve ever seen, and I’m including Sunday League in that. In all seriousness, if someone had done that at the shit level I play at they would have been screamed at. I can’t tell whether Laurent is lazy or thick, or both.
