52 years ago today Stoke v Arsenal at Villa Park in the FA Cup semi final. 1-1 was the result followed a few days later by the infamous replay at Goodison Park. I went to all four semi finals in 71 and 72. Seems so long ago?

Went to all those semi finals..What an introduction to supporting Stoke. My first game was about 1969. I was wondering is it always like this .Add the League Cup Final run and win..Talk about being spoilt ..😁😁😪😪

Never forget the team walking out at Hillsborough.(71) In an all white strip and the Dagenham pipers putting on a magnificent show. Goosebumps or what.

I went to all four semi finals in 71 and 72. Seems so long ago? My Mum, Dad & Uncle went to Goodison Park on the Coach, after the match, they were jumped by a group of Everton fans. Remember my Dad next morning, knuckles bloody & a black eye. Mum said, they travelled back every window broken on the Coach. I went the home leg of semi final League Cup, my Grand parents went the away leg as well ĺucky buggers, at make do with Sports night.

When I clicked on this thread I was expecting to read about the FA Cup 3rd place play off that existed for about four seasons in the early 70's which is mostly forgotten.
Recently read about it and was wondering who made the decision to schedule a match between Stoke and Everton on a Friday night at Selhurst Park? 5,000 attended and we won 3-2.
We finished 3rd in the FA Cup!
Is there anybody on here that went?
We also played Birmingham the following season and lost on penalties which I found out was the first tie to be won on pens. Apparently Peter Dobing's was saved and he put the rebound in not knowing that it wouldn't count that way!
