Fancy something different from the usual Indian, Chinese, Greek, Kebab, fish n chips, Pizza for tea - anyone know any decent alternative take always?

Much as I welcome its presence, I do miss the old greasy spoon that was there for many, many years. Good greasy spoons are an endangered species now.

Do Miso in Stoke still do takeaway?
About the only Japanese place I can think of around here.
There’s an Afghan place in Shelton that’s meant to be good. Never been mind so can’t actually comment personally.

I like a greasy spoon myself but whenever I went past that one it was usually pretty empty. There's been an interesting development in Hanley indoor market, the cafe area on the left (that was vacant for ages) as you go in has become part greasy spoon and part Thai restaurant 🙂 All Thai dishes are £7, not tried anything yet but that seems pretty good value if it's not shit.

If you want to go a little bit further afield, there's plenty of Nepalese stuff in Stafford. It's like a mix between Indian and Chinese food.

I only ask because I think it’s only been about the last 10 years that Gurkha’s have been stationed at MOD Stafford so it would make sense if it was since about then. When I went to Winchester they have a lot of Nepalese restaurants and have had Gurkha’s based there for some time.

I can only assume ravey is absolutely starving at this point Succumbed to the old favourite Indian. Was tempted by the Afghan by Stoke Station but didn’t have a clue what half of the dishes are so would be choosing a takeaway “blind”. Think me and Mrs Ravey will go for a sit in at the Afghan first.

I can’t think for the life of me why not🤔 Usually order on line to be honest, I don't like going outside. There are people and cats out there and other dangerous wildlife. Saw a pigeon earlier Most deliveries won't take cash as Pavel the driver will no doubt pocket it.

Couldn't beat the old Woodley down at Tittensor back in the day. At least it served real snap instead of the processed crap served up today

I might start a seagull (or whatever type of gull they are) takeaway in Crewe. There’s loads of em, one of them swooped and pecked my head last summer. Must have left a bit of doner meat in there or something.

I noticed that last few times . Maybe are lost or missed the last Blackpool train

Watched a YouTube video on it a while back where a guy goes and films all the utter filth behind these establishments. Harrowing stuff. I’ll try and find it
