Never mind the fact that we pinched their head coach and could have two of their ex-players up against them, what they'll really be after is revenge for the 9-0 drubbing we gave them on 17th December1960. Football fact: Johnny King scored a hat-trick for the Potters that day, he's still holds the record for the most hat-tricks for the club, since 1946, with five. He's still alive aged 91. (And yes, before you ask, he most probably still has his boots!) Get him in the team he will score just as many as our other strikers! Stevie Wonder would score more than our lot.

I still feel Iverson is not the one we need in goal - the number of times he should have (note: not should of) come out when the ball was floated in to our 6 yard area was criminal.
Even their (not There) goal could have been avoided if Iverson had been more assertive and got to the ball and just punched it away - then of course we had two defenders turning their backs on the SW player who scored with a cross shot. Definitely room for improvement and maybe we go for Travers because for me Iverson is no better than Bonham.
Sorry but the lack of English grammar on this forum is shocking.

Maybe you can share why you selected to use a hyphen instead of a semicolon when joining your similar, but independent points above. 😉

Song for Saturday: he might the right choice he made the right choice Steven Schumacher he made the right choice (only if we’re winning of course - wouldn’t want a repeat of Preston winning here and their fans giving AN, Johnson + Pearson the large one!)

It’s the "standard of English grammar…………"

Bonham doesn't save the chance early in the first half. In fact there's been quite a number of saves recently that Bonham gets nowhere near. This idea that Iversen is no better is frankly laughable.

Hello Stokie's Long time lurker and very occasional poster here from Pasoti. I also write the One Game at a Time Thread on the site which previews and reviews games through the season. As you might imagagine for a series written very much tongue in cheek, it has had a fair amount of interest in the respective performance of our two teams, especially since December. For what it is worth ( and with a nod to this site for one of the the references to Johnny King,) here isa link to this weeks posting pre Saturday. Sadly I won't be there, and I am sure it will be raucous and passionate. These temporary rivalries tend to burn out quite quickly. Here's the link. Always happy to correct factual errors....and based on this thread, grammatical ones too I suspect pasoti.co.uk/threads/one-game-at-a-time-youre-only-here-for-the-past-ties-stokealona-a-april-20th.127891/#post-2528048

Both sides still desperate to beat the stomach-churning drop. One manager still hoping to prove to his new audience he is no Wicker Man." *tips hat*

Posted on the "Stoke as an away ground review" thread, but got a Plymouth supporter mate asking if there are any away friendly pubs?
Was going to tell him to park somewhere west end of Stoke.

I dread this game more than any.... a Plymouth away sell out, wanting revenge for stealing their manager and player (can have them back)
Watching in despair as the team run to the fans celebrating after an early goal while SS stands there like a deer in headlights.
Cue Stoke 4-0 win.

I am glad that we have back up fixtures for safety just in case, given its 111 years since we had our only win chez vous... Law of the ex and all that..... As for rivalry...what did you expect for the abomination that was the Lee Chapman loan.....

I am basing my team on having players who have actually scored a goal, because we will need 1 or 2.
Iversen Hoever Stevens Rose McNally Burger Baker Junho Campbell Ennis Manhoef
Defenders defend first and foremost, don't be clever clear the fucking thing. Burger is holding, Baker in to take free kicks, corners and penalties (!!) Bae as the 10, I always feel Campbell is better on a wing than in the middle, Ennis there to run around a lot. I think it is the most attacking we can go with the players available.

Nice place mind. Oh it's the Schumacher thing? Fair enough. I wouldn't know what it's like to have a manager pinched. The last one was Cotterill way back when? I thinks that says more about the quality of manager than anything though!
