Today the Men's World Championship in Curling starts. My favourite sport to watch on tv, together with football and handball.
Sweden have a chance to take the gold obviously but many nations can.
Sweden play the Netherlands in a couple of hours. However it's not on TV. About half of the games are. Canada, Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand, Italy, Scotland ... Many enjoyable games to come. 🥌🥌🥌
The Swedish Ladies lost vs South Korea somewhat sensationally in the quarter final in the Ladies World Championship in Curling in Canada just a week ago or so. On the female side Switzerland have dominated recent years so the home side Canada winning it was welcome.

Sweden leading 8-1 against The Netherlands according to the official Curling website.
Scotland have 10-3 up against South Korea.
Three rounds to go of ten in both games.

England don't have a team there but maybe next time? Some time? 🤔

When I lived in North Dakota, my friends took me curling a few times. I actually like watching curling matches, but the act of curling itself is deceptively harder than it looks. It's a big drinking sport as well which is not apparent on television. Every curling club I ever went to had a fully stocked bar. It's just golfing during the winter. I would say I enjoy watching the womens' matches more than men, especially the Swedish women's, but I have not yet seen the talent this year.

I really like watching curling and it's good when the Scots do well.
This winter I've also watched the whole season of men's and women's winter Biathlon (skiing and shooting) on Eurosport and really enjoyed it.

Always watch most of the winter games but only pick and choose the summer games, usually some athletics and the cycling.

My favourite Winter Olympics. Sport. A rare support for Scotland’s ladies from me. Well, the Scottish Ladies didn't make it to the quarter finals this time, in Canada. Sweden did but lost vs South Korea. Canada the home team won against Switzerland in the final. South Korea won against Italy and grabbed the bronze medal. Sweden Ladies were 5th. *** TV will show Sweden Mens third match, against Switzerland at 2 p.m. today. We won against The Netherlands easily in the first game and against Japan in the second game thanks to a fantastic 8th round where we took 4 pts.

This winter I've also watched the whole season of men's and women's winter Biathlon (skiing and shooting) on Eurosport and really enjoyed it. I would have watched biathlon regularly since Sweden have some really good women and men in that sport, but unfortunately it's horrific to watch it due to the worst sports commentator ever. It's absolutely not possible to follow since he doesn't say who is in the lead. He focuses on all the irrelevant things.

Btw, in the final of the Ladies World Championship in Curling between Canada and Switzerland, the guests gave up after round 9 when Canada were leading 7-5.
It's said it's polite to do so, but more strange things happen in life then 3 pts in a round in curling ... or even just 2 pts for an extra round.

Winter Olympics > Summer Olympics ….. love the Winter Olympics (not so much the summer ones.) Especially love to he sliding sports (bobsleigh, luge and skeleton) as well as the ski jumping (remember Eddie the Eagle Edwards?) Once went down the Olympic bobsleigh course in Innsbruck many years ago. Quite an experience. Would love to do it again

Sweden beat South Korea today. 11 games, 11 wins. Now they're playing Scotland.
Swe 3 Can 7 in the 9th round, but Sweden have the last stone. Let see if they give up the 10th round.
All teams have done it in this or a similar position so far, except Canada.

Sweden lost vs Scotland 6-8.
However, Sweden are already ready for the semifinal.
I don't know how it's possible to skip the quarter final to get there though ...
