You lot make me sick, anti social hermits😉 5-4-3-2-1……………. Accept it Badgo Having stuff delivered is great. You don't have to go outside or miss an episode of Monk. You don't have to talk to people. You don't even have to get dressed. It rules I fancy a Cornetto, some Mini Rolls and a 3 pack of Rolo...press...there you go. Pavel is on his way

I had a strange experience just before Xmas some random delivery guy knocked at our front, stood there with a parcel but before he handed it over I was asked for my name/DoB.
Gave him a BS name/age then handed the parcel which was addressed to my daughter. Never thought anything of it until I mentioned it to my daughter weeks later and it was an age restricted Xmas present for me
Prize for guessing what it was

It's a fucking nightmare for those in retail with just eates deliveroo etc...they take priority above customers in-store abit like McDonald's etc if you are eating in they take priority...the problem is you have 8 minutes to do a on line order for any of the services Uber etc....if not you loose out on sales that's why on line sales at co op McDonald's Asda who deliver Uber deliveroo etc...get priority over in store customers...more mark up on profit for those who shop online I think deliveries saved some places during COVID Was chatting to a Polish lad who has a burger place in Crewe and he said their profits went up over 300% as got so many orders and kept so many customers as a result. They still do so much business through deliveries which suits them as takes time to cook their burgers and folk won't wait in store. Which place is this? I need a good burger place in Crewe/Nantwich

I mean in this economy, people doing the delivery have a job, the people putting orders together have a job…It’s a service offered, customers will use it. I’ve used it before when I just haven’t had the time to stop by somewhere or whatever. Call me old fashioned but I prefer to go into a convenience store and be served by an attentive shop assistant and not have staff getting in the way and a wall of young foreign blokes leaning over everything and all kinds of buzzers and alerts going off left, right and centre. A sign of the times of course but I don’t like it. Maybe these delivery companies could open up some places dedicated to online grocery shopping instead of ripping the heart out of the community the problem with online deliveries is the customer in-store is suffering while staff are preparing online orders...stores like the co op have little extra staffing hours to do both jobs

So what we've actually established in this thread it's not the fact that people are ordering online it's that the companies opting into this delivery service can't be arsed to provide a proper customer experience in-store because they don't give a shit about you

Not sure re Supermarkets but image hefty %age also. Other half chef is a chef in a restaurant that isn't too busy during the week for foot customers but she says is about 80% take away during the week and lots of it. Mainly Deliveroo

All the big supermarkets deliver to this bit of Wales and apparently they have to drive from Shrewsbury. Locally we've got a Co-Op and a Spar but the number of Adda, Morrisons etc vans on the roads is incredible.

I tend to do it right when ordering use these apps.
I have a crown stolen from Burger King that I wear, put on a dressing gown and use it as a medieval king like cloak, and sit there with gleeful abundance ordering what I like.
I'd urge everyone give it a go and see if you also feel the power akin to a medieval warlord.
Just make sure you take the gear off before you answer the door.

Mainly Deliveroo Supermarkets is an interesting one because they have had their own delivery services for years but many have adopted others too. Morrisons for example have their delivery as well as Amazon. I’d say in a few years we could see some supermarkets dropping or significantly reducing their in house delivery service, there is likely a saving to be had vs running vehicles, real estate for their storage, drivers etc etc Interesting how this starts to pan out

I’m talking about convenient stores (just in case you run out of mini rolls) A lot of older people use them and some rely on the interaction with staff in these places as their main source of conversation unfortunately
