…. can you buy a bloody oatcake from a shop anywhere in SOT or NUL on a Tuesday? All the shops I’ve looked at are closed! Coming over from Oz in Aug and travelling from Wythenshawe to Stafford via SOT on Tuesday 20 August

Try Oatbakers, 19 Station St, Longport, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 4ND just off the A500, I got 3 dozen off them a few weeks ago when diverting off the M6 to pick some up, I'd phoned London Road the day before to book 3 dozen but they couldnt supply them, I found these online, the number on their page is 07860855947, I pre ordered 3 dozen and picked them up, they also had giant ones with hot breakfast fillings being done at the time.

Should have travelled through Biddulph - Poveys make them fresh in their shop in town (and you can buy them cooked with fillings, or in bulk, or even the mixture to make your own at home!

I like them, I preferred them to High Lane before Poveys took it over.
I'm a big fan of the large ones they sell at Six Towns on the outskirts of Hanley across from Forest Park.

High lanes open, although I’m the opposite…they were a lot nicer before poveys took over (although tbf they have improved a bit)

I quite like the Aunty Sarah’s oatcakes you get in some shops. Nice and thin. Believe they’re based in Normacot
